FOLKS WHO GET IT: STANLEY CROUCH ON THE IMUS VS HIP HOP DEBATE

Let's Keep It Real - He Ain't The Best Looking Brother. Meet Our New Hero

Bitches and Ho' No Mo

...The message was spreading even before Imus' comments. Cultural critic, author and columnist Stanley Crouch, a longtime rap foe, suspected the Imus ordeal would galvanize young black women. He said a key moment was when the Rutgers players appeared at a news conference -- poised, dignified and defying stereotypes.

''When the public got to see these women, what they were, it was kind of shocking," Crouch said.

Writers Jason Whitlock and Crouch - keep doing what you're doing. Family, this is not about being from the ghetto. This is not about being oppressed, or poor, or uneducated, or voiceless, or artists speaking to truth, or racism.

This is about Black men calling our women, our mothers, our sisters, our aunts, our daughters Bitch, Ho, Skank, Skeezer and Chickenhead. This is about portraying brothers taking a atm/credit card and swiping a Black woman's butt cheeks in a music video.

In the words of Beyonce, Russell Simmons... "To the left-to the left," Mr Crouch is taking center stage.
