A lawsuit filed last week by singer Des'ree alleged copyright infringement over the song "I'm Kissing You". Beyonce told MTV News the song wasn't originally intended for release and that she had just recorded it because "she always loved it".
To hell with the legal protections that Knowles herself will be using once her white hot career takes a dive and she's performing at the local El Torito - what Beyonce wants, Beyonce gets!
Des'ree, you better watch your back.
Columbia and Sony have agreed to engage in no further distribution of the album or video anthology with the song in question, at least until a preliminary injunction hearing hearing May 4.
With record sales in a slump and the industry needing some good buzz - trust us - expect all parties involved to make nice within the next few days.
