HERE COMES THE BRIDE!
Actress Kim Fields (star of The Facts Of Life and Living Single) reportedly married her longtime boyfriend and the father of her child - Broadway dancer/actor Christopher Morgan.
We've met Kim on several occasions and she is good people. After her first brief marriage which ended in divorce, she deserves all the happiness in the world.
In acknowledging the nuptials, her fansite is saying that the private ceremony took place on July 23rd, 2007, with Pastor Donnie McClurkin officiating.
Of course, no celebrity hook-up these days is absent from some hint of scandal. MediaTakeOut.com has put it out there that one of Christoper's former co-workers questioned whether Morgan was heterosexual (see story here).
They go on to add that coincidentally - or maybe not so coincidentally, that Pastor McClurkin's ministry specializes in counseling men that homosexuality can be "overcome" through Bible study and intense prayer. While the Pastor has admitted to engaging in homosexual acts, he now claims to be "healed" and is currently living a celibate lifestyle.
Today it seems like Black folks can't win. If they don't get married, they're setting a bad example. If they marry outside their race, they're a traitor. When Black people decide to marry each other, one of them has to be gay.You know what family, sometimes we are our own worst enemy.
So with that, we'll just say, "CONGRATULATIONS!"
