Another small step toward R. Kelly’s child pornography trial was taken Friday with the beginning of jury selection, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The singer attended the brief morning hearing in a Chicago courtroom that saw attorneys for both sides render their jury questionnaires to Judge Vincent Gaughan.
The next hearing is scheduled for today (July 25), where the opposing attorneys will submit to the judge one questionnaire form to be filled out by potential jurors.
Robert Kelly is charged with 14 counts of child pornography stemming from a 2002 videotape that allegedly shows him engaging in sexual acts with an underage girl.
