EASY LIKE (EASTER) SUNDAY MORNING

Like millions of children in this country, I enjoyed Easter growing up as a child. While I had a grandmother who always made sure I was dressed well for church, Easter was that extra-special Sunday when I got to look especially nice complete with a hat or veil and white gloves along with a new spring-colored frilly dress. I was awfully cute.

Now that I am older, Easter has taken on a whole new meaning.

The last three years of my life have been that of spiritual transformation and enlightenment. Prior to this time of change, my experience with church had become more stressful over the years. Between the back-biting, excessively mean gossip and church politics, it became far too much than anyone expecting a 7th day of spiritual rest should have to endure. Such an environment became contrary to anything I knew to be God.
