Black D.C. Judge Who Sued Asian Cleaners For Millions After They Lost His Pants Has Now Lost His Job!

No Case And Now No Gig For Judge Roy Pearson

An African American judge from Washington DC who lost a ridiculous $54 million lawsuit against his dry cleaner over a pair of missing pants has lost his job. Even though this was stupid on his part, we still feel bad for the brotha!

Judge Pearson's two-year term as an administrative law judge expired May 2 and the D.C. Commission on Selection and Tenure of Administrative Law Judges has decided on taking a pass in terms of reappointing him. Pearson was one of about 30 judges who handled disputes involving city agencies. You know he was probably the only one kicked to the curb. Pearson's lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court claimed Custom Cleaners, owned by South Korean immigrants, did not live up to Pearson's expectations of "Satisfaction Guaranteed," as advertised in store windows.

Making national headlines and giving bloggers and comedians plenty to talk about, Pearson demanded repayment for the lost pants, as well as damages for inconvenience, mental anguish and attorney's fees for representing himself. He calculated his losses initially at $67 million but lowered his request to $54 million. (AP)
