Laurence Fishburne To Star On CSI: Another Black Talent Who Can't Get Feature Film Roles Turns To TV

Oscar nominated Laurence Fishburne will be joining his "Malcolm X/What's Love Got To Do" co-star Angela Basset as he like her heads to television. The show; CSI and Fishburne will be replacing actor William Petersen, who will step down after this season’s 10th episode. What is happening is farely new. The most talented Black actors can not find feature film roles so they have to settle for television.

Angela Bassett starts this season on televisions E.R. Fishburne, at a young 47-years-old actor would play a new character, described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn’t previously acted on any homicidal impulses.

I'm not mad at Laurence for taking the gig. It is just a a constant reminder that there are not enough roles in feature films for African Americans. It is hard enough for the average actor to get acting work and now we have full blown super stars of the big movie screen taking "piece meal" television work.
