Drug Heparin Contaminated by Chinese, Kills Even More


Heparin the Blood thinner used all over the U.S. is back in the news. We last reported that half the supply was yanked off the US market. Well today the FDA released higher numbers of death related to the drug. After reviewing adverse events back to January 2007, FDA said Tuesday it uncovered 103 reports of patients who died while taking heparin. But each Heparin manufacturer is claiming...

they are not to blame, the numbers are inflated and the deaths are not due to reaction to the contamination. FDA spokeswoman Karen Riley has more in this AP story.
