Has The Tavis-Barack Controversy Caused Media's Top Dog To Lose A Gig!

America's Fly Jock Cancels Tavis?

Tom Joyner has just announced that Tavis Smiley would no longer be a correspondent on his nationally syndicated morning show.

No specific reason was given for Tavis' resignation, but...

...some are speculating that my Kappa brother was feeling the heat from all the haters critical of his stance regarding presidential candidate Barack Obama.

We're here at 3BAAS ain't buying it... Well, at least I'm not!
And as it turns out, it was Smiley, 43, who reportedly quit his weekly political commentary position. Smiley became a frequent commentator on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, a nationally syndicated radio show broadcast on African-American stations, in 1996.

In 2000, Smiley and Joyner began hosting annual town hall meetings called "The State of the Black Union" which were aired live on C-SPAN.

Smiley currently hosts Tavis Smiley, a late night talk show televised on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) network. Smiley also has a column, "The Smiley Report", on the Black America Web website.

Can you be on Team Barack and still ride with the Black man who has given love to us for almost two decades? What say you?
