Unable To Make Money Selling Records, Are Nas & Kelis Going On A Suing Spree?

Now that the checks are no longer coming in, R&B artist Kelis and rap star Nas may be gearing up for battle against folks down in Miami. Internet rumors are spreading that the two popular African American artists plan on launching a $100M lawsuit against Florida's hottest city.

According to MediaTakeOut.com, the lawsuit will claim that last year Nas was the victim of the Miami police department's racial profiling. And that his wife Kelis was arrested when she protested the actions of local law enforcement.

They better do something. And quick. Nas and wifey have both seen a sales decline since their January 8, 2005, wedding. Nas' eight pre-jumping the broom releases have sold a combined 11.3 million copies, while Kelis' two albums released before 2005 add up to 785,000. Post marriage, Nas has sold 755,000 of 2006's "Hip Hop Is Dead," while Kelis has moved 157,000 with "Kelis Was Here," released in 2006 as well.
