BARRY BONDS' BALL #756 AND BUD SELIGS' NAME, BOTH WITH AN ASTRISK (*)

No farewell tour planned. No playoff/post season appearance, No World Series ring, No offers to play next year. But all is not lost Barry because some people, well one person is going through a lot to let you know how he really feels about you. Case in point ...

Fashion designer Marc Ecko, made a successful auction bid of $752,467 earlier this month for your record breaking ball #756.
He revealed Wednesday morning on NBC's "Today" show that more than 10 million votes were counted on his Web site and "Brand It" (with an asterisk) was the clear winner with nearly half the vote over "Bestow It" and "Banish It" (because of Bonds performance-enhancing drugs scandal), and then send it to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ecko said that the marking of the ball will show future generations that we thought "this was a shrouded chapter of baseball history that wasn't necessarily the clearest it could be." But here is the kicker ... Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown Ohio, says it will accept the ball, with the asterisk stamped on it!

Who's to blame? Barry, Marc Eco, Idiots in Cooperstown, The anti-fans who voted this way ...

I say it is Bud Selig*, Major League Baseball Commissioner. It was he who accepted ramped steroid use in baseball to build it back up after the baseball strike. (Remember the much touted McGuire vs. Sosa home run race?)

Selig* is the one who refused to stop the speculation, of how he himself felt about Barry and the home run record and attending the record breaking hit. Selig* has not spoke out against the asterisk on the ball. Commissioner Selig*, people are laughing but not at Barry. They are laughing at Major League Baseball.
So in the end when "your" picture goes up in Cooperstown an asterisk should go next to your picture. Because the most embarrassing time in all of baseball is under your watch.
