First It Was An NBA Title, Now Parker And Longoria Celebrate A Wedding
PARIS - Biracial pro basketball superstar Tony Parker and Latina television actress Eva Longoria were officially tied the knot Friday at a civil ceremony officiated by the mayor of the French capital.
The "Desperate Housewives" scene stealer showed up in a white stretch limo, wearing a short pink Chanel dress with striped black and white straps.
Parker, the MVP of the National Basketball Association playoffs for the champion San Antonio Spurs, arrived in a gray mini van in a dark suit.
French law requires couples who marry to take their vows at a city hall, even if they have a church wedding as well. Crowds of reporters were waiting for them _ and Longoria gave a little wave before disappearing inside to say "oui" in front of Mayor Bertrand Delanoe.
They and their entourage have given very few details about the nuptials.
The couple are thought to be planning a second wedding ceremony Saturday at a Paris church that once served French royals. Then, they and their guests are to party at Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th century chateau 34 miles southeast of Paris.
In an interview with Le Parisien published Friday, Parker said he was eager to have kids.
"That would be even better than my NBA titles, even if I don't compare private life and sports," he told the newspaper. "Eva talks to me about it all the time. I'd like to have girls, because I come from a world of boys."
He also said he considers himself "the luckiest guy in the world
