Grammy Award winner Amy Winehouse has a death wish, returning to one of her bad habits following a week-long hospital stay.
The troubled singer lit a cigarette soon after her release from a London facility, where, according to her father, she was diagnosed with emphysema due to all the cancer sticks and crack she keeps ingesting into her body.
She reportedly plans to perform at a birthday celebration for Nelson Mandela on Friday.
"Amy is showing early signs of what could lead to emphysema and is receiving treatment," her publicist said. The singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, spoke out about his daughter's illness earlier in the week to Britain's Daily Mail. "The only thing that can go into her lungs are fresh air," he said. "She faces a stark choice - either she sticks to it or she won't sing again."
According to Mitch, Amy has 70 percent lung capacity. "With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes, her lungs are all gunked up," he said.
