ANN COULTERS COMMENTS ABOUT JEWS: FACT ? PUBLICITY STUNT? ANTI-SEMITISM?

With Ann Coulter comments on "perfecting Jews", one has to wonder whether these are the rants of a political personality, whom we can't figure out what she does or why she deserves publicity for doing nothing of significance, ala Paris Hilton. Is she crazy or crazy like a fox as she churns her publicity opinion turbine with nothing but hot air. Before we go on, let's take you back to the "scene of the crime" .

Coulter's latest affront to civil society came in an Oct. 8 interview on CNBC's "The Big Idea" hosted by Donny Deutsch. (Another personality whom we can't figure out why he deserves attention for having a life of fluff and no "relevant stuff.")

"If you had your way ... and your dreams, which are genuine, came true ... what would this country look like?" Deutsch asked.

Coulter responded, "It would look like New York City during the [2004] Republican National Convention. In fact, that's what I think heaven is going to look like."
She added, "People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America."

Deutsch (who is Jewish) sought clarification: "It would be better if we were all Christian?"

Coulter said, "Yes."

Pressed by Deutsch regarding whether she wanted to be like "the head of Iran" and "wipe Israel off the Earth," Coulter stated: "No, we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."

Wow, OK, Mmmmm ... Ann ya got us, where are the hidden cameras? Donny Deutch has been "Punked" right?

My personal comments are between the lines above. I mean, you did hear me when I said, if they are both news worthy people; I can't figure out why. But don't take my word for it. The following are four comments by people who I have either heard calling in to radio programs or written in.

1) "Mr. Deutsch got just what he deserved,"
"Did he think he was immune from the caustics generated by this sick and psychotic amoeba? He wanted some good ratings. He got some good ratings, I guess. Personally, I stopped watching his show about a year ago."

2) Coulter is "an offensive harpy" who "will say anything to sell her poorly written propaganda books." Condemning Coulter seems not as effective as figuring out a practical way to lessen her media megaphone. I plead guilty today to being an accessory.

3) Coulter's comments are contemptible -- not because of her evangelical theology -- but because she seems willfully unaware that talk that Jews have to be converted has historically fueled anti-Semitism.

4) What Ann is alluding to is documented fact. Before there were "Christian" all the disciples and those originally converted to Christianity were Jews. They called themselves "perfected Jews" during Christ life and for a time after his death. This term did not change until the word of Christ was eventually spread to the Greeks and Romans. Ann's comments then, have merit in evangelism and not Nazism that speaks of Jews everywhere being less than perfect.

Tell us what you think.
