Though he isn't nominated for an Oscar this year, WILL SMITH gets to add another trophy to his collection, nonetheless. His performance in 'I Am Legend' wins him the Cadet Choice Movie Award, the first honor of its kind bestowed upon him by trainees at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.
The award recognizes the fictional character that best epitomizes the leadership skills desired of a West Point cadet, according to the AP. Smith's character in the film, Dr. Robert Neville, is a selfless military doctor who specializes in kicking zombie butt. For his "value-based leadership," Neville racked up 27 percent of the cadets' 2,200 online votes, beating out King Leonidas (GERARD BUTLER) of '300' and John McClane (BRUCE WILLIS) of 'Live Free or Die Hard,' the news agency reports.
A two-time Oscar nominee -- for his roles in 'Ali' (2002) and 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (2007) -- Will's 'I Am Legend' debuted to a record breaking weekend that topped even the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. AP
