TODAY IS HOODIE-HOO DAY FAMILY: NO, IT AIN'T A BLACK THING!

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH!

On this winter day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo". Find out why under the hood.

This phrase, spoken at high volume, apparently will make winter feel unwelcome and pave the way for spring to arrive. It is a day to chase away winter and bring in spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere are sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.

I'm going out on a limb here when I say that I don't think this is popular with the brothas and sistahs in the hood. Stop me when I start lying!

Meanwhile, how about some Hootie for you black rockers:
