BYE-BYE TO CAMERA TRAFFIC TICKETS? NOT SO FAST FAMILY
Lawmakers Cracking Down On Spray That Can't View License Plate In Pictures
SIDEBAR--
Whether it's going through toll roads, bridges or a local intersection, cameras are catching traffic offenders all over the country. What's becoming increasingly tough, however, is catching them because of a photo blocker spray folks are using on their license plates.
Check Out All The Details About Photo Blocker Spray
When the camera hits the license plates, the light overexposes the plate and you can't read the actual picture. Of course, when that happens, authorities can't send the driver a ticket.
"For somebody to purposely spray this on their license plate to try to circumvent the system and get away with running the red light is very, very dangerous," Officer Konrad Von Schoech, of the Sacramento Police Department, said.
What the officer didn't say is that his vehicles, and his friend's friend's vehicles, all have the spray that goes on clear and only costs 30 bucks.
The California Assembly recently took steps to approved a ban prohibiting drivers from using the sprays. If the proposal passes, violators face up to a $1000 fine and/or six months in jail.
Good luck enforcing that law! You can't even tell who's using it.
