BLACK-OWNED RADIO CONGLOMERATE DOWNSIZES WITH SALE OF STATIONS
Is There Something Going On Over At RADIO ONE???
First Radio One received notice from the NASDAQ Stock Market indicating they had not filed some type of mandated quarterly report.
Now comes word that ten stations are being sold. Targeting black urban listeners, the company will sell all of its radio stations in Dayton, Ohio, and five of its six stations in Louisville, Ky., to Main Line Broadcasting, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners of Washington, D.C.
The Black-owned company, started by the incredible Cathy Hughes, also owns the cable outlet TV One.
The deal is priced at nearly $76 million, and is expected to close during the second half of 2007.
