FOLKS WHO GET IT: HISTORIC FORMULA 1 VICTORY FOR BLACK DRIVER

LEWIS HAMILTON

Lewis Hamilton's victory in Sunday's Formula One Canadian Grand Prix, the most notable by a black driver in motor sports history, represents just another wall that brothers are knocking down.

"I was just trying to control myself, to be honest," the 22-year-old Englishman said after winning by 4.3 seconds over Nick Heidfeld at the winding, 2.71-mile Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. "I wanted to stop the car, jump out and just do cartwheels or something."

Hamilton has completed 314 of 315 possible laps in six Formula One events this year, tops in the series. ... 2006 GP2 Series champion with six wins. ... 2005 F3 Euroseries champion with 15 wins.

Do your thing brother! Those of us across the pond are proud to know you're representing.
