Former White House Aide Must Report To Prison In 4-8 Weeks

I Lewis 'Scooter' Libby's request to remain on bond pending appeal was denied today by U.S District Court Judge Reginald Walton.

Before Judge Walton opened a hearing into whether to delay Libby's 2 1/2-year sentence, he made it a point to indicate that serious threat against him and his family had been received.

Convicted for lying and obstructing justice in the CIA leak case involving agent Valarie Plame, Scooter Libby has maintained his innocence. With no regret or contrition seen, and protocol dictating that a U.S. president wait five years before a pardon should be considered, Bush is in a real pickle.

In the words of the embattled leader of the free world, "I want to follow presidential guidelines. Let the legal process work itself out." According to MSNBC, The total number of presidential pardons to date that Bush has made is only 113.

Now, an intriguing battle heats up between federal prosecutors who want more information on the collateral issues surrounding this case, and a Republican administration on the ropes. Currently, Bush's approval rating is at 29%.


Meanwhile, Judge Walton has been receiving
disturbing communications after sentencing the former White House chief of staff to Vice-President Dick Cheney to prison.

With him being an African-American, it's likely that some of those threats having racial overtones.

"I received a number of angry, harassing mean-spirited phone calls and letters," U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton said. "Some of those were wishing bad things on me and my family."

Judge Walton said he was holding the letters in case something happened, but said they would have no effect on he he proceeds with this controversial case.
