
Known as the "Black Woodstock" - the 7-hour sold-out concert taped at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum on Aug. 20, 1972 -
"Wattstax: I Am Somebody!" will be shown tonight at the
California African American Museum near downtown LA.

Stax Records artists, including Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas, the Barclays and more performed to benefit the Watts Summer Festival. Narrated by Richard Pryor, complete with the n-word (get over it - it was the '70s). BTW - That's Rev. Jesse Jackson in the photo with Isaac Hayes. Admission was $1. - We were there!
