Fox Broadcasting announced Monday that "American Idol" host, et al, Ryan Seacrest will host the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 16 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The show's producers hope that Seacrest will appeal to that coveted younger viewer audience. That would assume that the younger crowd watches primetime television!
