COUNTDOWN #2 -If Hillary Doesn't Get Out Soon, The Party Will Do It For Her!

A day after Barack Obama's decisive win in the North Carolina primary, his campaign announced commitments from three new superdelegates this afternoon, as well as South Dakota Senator and former presidential candidate George McGovern, a long time Clinton ally.

North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Jerry Meek, North Carolina DNC member Jeanette Council, and California DNC member Inola Henry--all previously uncommitted--announced their support for Obama in statements released by the Illinois senator's campaign.

"Although my position as State Chair has led me to remain neutral through the primary, I've quietly celebrated as Barack Obama offered new hope to millions of Americans who have lost faith in the American dream after years of disastrous Republican policies," Meek said in the statement.

And with McGovern, 85, calling Hillary and Bill to tell them personally of his decision, now this race is just about the Clinton's saving face. [Washington Post]
