Are The Rumors True That Tyler Perry's Life Is Going To The Dogs???

By Tyler Perry

I found out something about myself recently...Back in November when I got Aldo, my two-year old German Shepherd, I looked at him and he looked at me and I think we were both thinking, "What do we do now?"

I had major anxiety about taking care of a living creature for the rest of its life. The responsibility was overwhelming to me. I was like, "There is no way! I work 16 to 18 hours a day.

I'm just the kind of guy that is focused. I love what I do, and with 2 TV shows and
doing 4 movies this year I don't have time to think, let alone take care of a living creature.

That's why I'm single and have no kids. I know me, I don't want to stop what I'm doing when I'm on a roll for anything. Okay so that's a snap shot of my life.

So something comes over me one day, and I got a dog. So Aldo (that's his name...he was already named, I didn't name him,..LOL) comes and it was really strange. I know this sounds crazy but I had night sweats because I was responsible for this living thing. The anxiety was so bad I thought that I should give him to someone who had the time for a dog. So, for the first month one of the guys who works for me helped me a great deal with Aldo.

When I would go out of town he and his wife, who have two dogs of their own, would take him to their house. He would have so much fun with those dogs and I would come home and he would be back in the house with me. He'd be looking at me like, "Who are you?"

One Saturday morning the staff was off so it was just me and Aldo and I had worked late the night before. Now I'm usually up by 5:30am in themorning for my work out and have him fed and walked by 7am, but I decided to sleep in. At 7am I heard knocking at my bedroom door. I sat up in the bed knowing that I live alone. The security alarm was set and no one could be in the house. I heard it again! I got up. It was Aldo knocking on my door. I sat there shocked! This dog was knocking at my door!

He was sitting there wagging his tail looking at me like, "WHATS UP?" So, as I
went towards the bed to get my slippers to take him out, this dog, who never gets on the furniture, jumps in my bed in the spot that I was sleeping as if to say, "You're not getting back in this bed!" I was laughing so hard. I took him out, walked him and played with him. From that day on he's been my best buddy.

He has really changed my life. Even though I have help, I find myself not working long hours so that I can rush home to walk him and feed him. It's so crazy! Who knew that me, Mr. Commitment Phob, could feel like this about any living creature?

Maybe Aldo is God's way of preparing me to be a father. Who knows? When I come down the stairs in the morning he's there at the bottom of the stairs. He jumps up to hug me. It the craziest thing!

I've been dealing with a lot with my mother's illness lately, so I've had a few rough days. Aldo would come put his head on my lap and look up at me, as if to say, "It's going to be okay." I'm telling you this dog is so great. He really changed my life. Because I have to take care of him it makes me take better care of myself.

All of that to say, I didn't know that a dog could change my life. I have officially become a dog lover. I went to the humane society yesterday. I wanted to adopt a dog for him to have a companion to run and play with. I came home with three puppies, Peter, Paul and Mary (LOL). This time I may have gone a little to far (SMILE). Wish me luck.

Michael Vick's Co-Defendants Get Their Chains Yanked

Quanis Phillips of Atlanta and Purnell Peace of Virginia Beach could have received up to five years in prison -- the same maximum former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick faces when he is sentenced Dec. 10. Instead, there sentences were much shorter on federal dogfighting conspiracy charges.

Vick's co-defendants were sentenced Friday to 18 months and 21 months in prison respectively. Peace, Phillips and Tony Taylor of Hampton pleaded guilty last summer and agreed to testify against Vick, prompting the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback to enter his own plea agreement a few days later. Taylor will be sentenced Dec. 14.

People Like Ellen DeGeneres Are The Real Reason Black Baller Michael Vick Is Still In The Doghouse!

Hey Ellen, Enough With The Waterworks And Drama Over A Damn Dog!!!

After completely losing it yesterday on her daytime gabfest, Ellen DeGeneres says she's done talking about her canine dilemma and is pleading for calm. She the hysterical one and she's pleading for calm?

I don't know if you saw her family, but it's clear that whatever's going on behind the scenes, this controversy surrounding an adopted dog has gotten out of hand.

During a Wednesday taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," to be aired Thursday, DeGeneres told viewers she wouldn't speak again until the dog, Iggy, is returned to DeGeneres' hairdresser and the woman's young daughters.

The dispute erupted last month when DeGeneres and her lesbian partner Portia De Rossi (shown here at the recent Emmy Awards) adopted Iggy, a black Brussels Griffon mix terrier. When Iggy wasn't able to get along with DeGeneres' cats, the couple gave the dog to DeGeneres' hairdresser.

Mutts and Moms, the nonprofit dog-rescue organization that originally gave DeGeneres the dog, later took it back, saying the talk show host had violated the adoption agreement by not informing them that she was giving the dog away. That set off a firestorm of nasty e-mails and threats directed at the agency after DeGeneres shared the blow by blow with viewers on her show this week.

"Let me just say this, it's gotten out of hand," DeGeneres said on the segment to air Thursday. "I want nothing, nothing more than that dog returned to that family. But you don't resort to violence. So anybody out there, please stop that. Please don't threaten or do whatever."

The angry calls got so bad that Marina Batkis, co-owner of the dog rescue organization, said she had to close her business and stay home Wednesday, a day after DeGeneres broadcast a tearful, televised plea for the dog to be returned to her hairdresser and the woman's daughters. "My life is being threatened. This is horrible," a tearful Batkis said outside her home.

This must be spoofed on Saturday Night Live this weekend. This is pure butter baby!

DeGeneres has acknowledged she erred but said her hairdresser and her family shouldn't be punished. Batkis has refused to back down. "If Ellen wants to place dogs and decide what's a good home, then she should start her own rescue group," she told "Inside Edition." "But I'm the one doing this and I know what I'm doing."

DeGeneres said several agencies had offered to provide the family another dog, even one that looked like Iggy. "And unfortunately, Ruby, the little girl, doesn't want another dog, she wants Iggy," said DeGeneres on the show to air Thursday. "It's not a toy that's broken that you can replace. It's a dog." Here the latest on this tearjerker.

LOL! Seriously, you couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.

Micheal Vick Is Not A Happy Pup: After Losing That $130 Million, He Now Faces State Charges, Loan Defaults & A Weed Possession Offense!

Just when you think you can't grow any more; just when you think you've found your flow, someone calls you up and asks you to talk and write about the very thing you hope to avoid. This is the position I find myself in today.Just like people admitted they didn't know who Juanita Bynum was, I didn't know who Michael Vick was. Nor did I care to know. Nothing personal. I just have never been a big football fan - despite having spent four years at the University of Michigan. I am sure that this is identified as a sin somewhere in the good book.

Today, I gave my take on the latest concerning Michael Vick and his recent indictment by a grand jury in Virginia on state charges relating to a dogfighting ring operated on a property owned by the quarterback in rural Surry County. Why, oh, why are we still talking about this? Now, I didn't get too much into this the first go around like the brothers on this site when Vick was originally brought up on federal charges on which he is scheduled to be sentenced on December 10th after pleading guilty last month in federal court to his involvement dogfighting.

However, unless you were dead, you couldn't help but get wind of it every 5 seconds on some news channel. I am saddened and angry by this whole emphasis and focus on Vick for a number of reasons. Among them is that this just represents another Black man who seems like he can barely stay on top of the mountain long enough before he is somehow knocked off. At 27 years old and a $130 million NFL contract in tow, Mr. Vick had it made. Now fighting dogs has put him in the dog house.

There are those who want to blame hip hop for the glorification of dogfighting as part of hip hop culture that contributed to Vick being in the situation that he's in. I would have to disagree on this one. First, it was the glorification of the exploitation of Black women in music videos and now it's dogs. It's fair to say it certainly hasn't been a good year for hip hop. However, I am not sure if I would pin this whole dogfighting thing on hip hop. My research shows that dogfighting actually goes as far back to the 18th century during the Roman empire and during Elizabethan times in England. Black folks didn't create dogfighting. In fact...

MICHAEL VICK OFFICIALLY PLEADS GUILTY, LETS JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL

Black Falcon's Quaterback Claws His Way Toward Redemption

"Guilty," Michael Vick responded to U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson in a low, almost inaudible voice, his hands clasped behind his back. His only sign of emotion came afterward, when he hugged a woman in the front row, later identified by his attorneys as his fiancee. Vick quietly wiped away a tear.

Yes, Michael Vick is a convicted felon now folks, formally pleading to heinous federal dogfighting charges Monday morning. Clocking in at exactly 18 minutes, the pro-baller admitted that he supplied most of the gambling money for fights on his southeastern Virginia property and endorsed the killing of poorly performing dogs.

Not that PETA won't still go for the jugular, but Vick must live out this dramatic fall for one of the NFL's marquee players.

And it sounds like he's found religion in the process. "Dog fighting is a terrible thing, but I found Jesus and have asked for forgiveness. I am turning my life over to God," the athlete stated at a news conference that was chalked full of contrition and humility. "I will redeem myself, I have to."

Judge Hudson set Vick's sentencing for Dec. 10 on the single federal conspiracy charge but repeatedly reminded him that he is not bound by the prison sentence of 12 to 18 months that prosecutors and Vick's attorneys are recommending. "The bottom line is that if I decide you deserve five years and give you five years, you can't appeal it," the judge said. "Do you understand? You're taking your chances here. . . . You have to live with whatever decision I make."

UPDATES AND VIDEO

U.S. Attorney Chuck Rosenberg said in a statement this morning that federal sentencing guidelines had appeared to call for a prison term of up to six months and that a first-time offender like Vick normally might not have received any jail time. Prosecutors insisted that the sentencing range be adjusted upward to 12-18 months, and Vick's attorneys agreed. "It is highly unusual for a defendant to agree to recommend a sentence above the advisory guideline range,'' Rosenberg said.

An attorney for Vick, William R. (Billy) Martin, said afterward the hearing that "we hope Judge Hudson will see the real Mike Vick. What you've seen is something . . . an aberration. We think Judge Hudson will get [the sentence] right.''

Vick said he blamed no one else for his situation and apologized to the public, his football teammates and to "all the kids out there for my immature acts." "I made a mistake in using bad judgment and making bad decisions," he said.

His court appearance was again greeted by deranged animal rights protesters, but the atmosphere outside the courthouse was nothing like the circus it was at his first court appearance. One sign read "Prosecute all dog fighters, justice for all victims." Another represented a different take: "Hang in there Mike," it read.

On Friday, Vick was suspended indefinitely by the league, he has lost endorsement deals from athletic equipment companies, and he will face efforts by the Falcons to recoup upwards of 40 million dollars in signing bonuses. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank accepted Vick's apology and indicated that it was "sincere and heartfelt."

DMX: IS MAN NO LONGER A DOG'S BEST FRIEND IF THAT MAN IS A BROTHA?

Sidebar--

Cops Claim Drugs Found in Rapper's Home After Raid

PHOENIX -- After searching the home of DMX during an investigation into claims of animal cruelty, the po-po are claiming they found about a half-pound of suspected illegal narcotics.

The Washington Post is reporting that sheriff's deputies raided the talented yet troubled black rapper's crib on Friday, seizing several pit bulls.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office received a tip more than a week ago about dogs being kept in inhumane conditions at the Phoenix-area home.

With albums that include "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot" and "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood" and "Year of the Dog ... Again," this is not exactly the best news for Earl Simmons, the name his mama gave him before he became DMX.

In 2002, Simmons pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia in New Jersey. Police said they found pipes for smoking crack cocaine, a pistol and 13 pit bulls at his home in 1999.

Friday's search was prompted by reports that pit bulls kept by the rapper at the home in rural north Phoenix were not being given enough food or water. A dozen pit bulls were seized, the bodies of three dogs were dug up in the yard and a variety of assault-style weapons were allegedly taken from the home. So far, no arrests have been made.

DMX, 36, was not at home and his lawyer said he hasn't been there for two months. Witnesses, however, placed Simmons at the home within the past three weeks.

The weapons are being checked to see if they are legal, the sheriff said. It's not like he can't carry them, however, since to date he has no felony convictions that would prohibit him from doing so.

BREAKING NEWS: FACING A RUFF SITUATION, MICHAEL VICK WILL PLEAD TO DOGFIGHTING CHARGES

Atlanta Falcons NFL Quarterback Michael Vick will admit to the charges filed in the controversial Virginia dogfighting case that has captured the nation's attention and infuriated pet activists all over the world.

Lawyers for the $100 million dollar Black superstar just released a statement saying that Vick is accepting full responsibility for his horrific criminal conduct and will do everything in his power to make the situation right!

The deal struck will include at least one year on lockdown, and triumphs logic that he actually had any other options after his co-defendants pled last week.

The inordinately talented player has obviously been leading a double life in his down time, and that may spark closer scrutiny by the NFL. The gambling allegations alone could trigger a lifetime ban under the league's personal conduct policy.

The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The sentencings for the other defendants are set for November and December.

White Judge Tells Black Defendant In The Vick Case: If I Give You Five Years, You Can't Appeal That!

Bush Appointed Judge Insists He's Unbound By Sentencing Guidelines

While Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick might be working towards resolving his twisted and disturbing dog fighting case, the judge has said that while he'll consider the agreement Vick seeks to enter into with federal prosecutors, he will not be bound by it.

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson presided Friday over guilty pleas entered by two defendants in the case. Both received preliminary sentencing guidelines of 12 to 18 months in prison in a case that carries a maximum of five years in prison and $250,000 fine.

"I have the authority to construe the guidelines the way I think is appropriate. Do you understand that?" Hudson asked defendant Purnell Peace. "Yes sir," responded Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach

With one of Vick's attorneys seated in the spectator section of the courtroom, the judge also told Peace, "If I give you five years, you can't appeal that."

While the judge noted he will give a "lot of weight" to the guidelines, the uncertainty about his decision on sentencing remains as Vick and his attorneys weigh whether to accept a plea deal or take the case to trial on Nov. 26.

Prosecutors also have reserved the right to file a superseding indictment by the end of this month, which could add to the charges and potential penalties. Prosecutors have to go back to the grand jury to seek the new indictment, and the grand jury convenes Monday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is also reporting that the commonwealth's attorney in Surry County, Va., Gerald Poindexter, says he plans to file state charges against Vick and others in connection with the alleged dogfighting ring based on property formerly owned by Vick in Surry County.

BREAKING NEWS: DEATH BY DOG MAUL AT THE HOLLYWOOD HOME OF BLACK ACTOR VING RHAMES!

Irving C Rhames, aka Ving Rhames has had tragedy strike a little too close to home.

The 48-year-old talented New York born actor has reportedly had a person under his employ killed as a result of a horrific dog mauling incident at his gated mansion in Southern California.

LAPD have indicated that the victim worked as a caretaker for Rhames over the past two years, watching over the dogs and his home.

The four dogs, three mastiffs weighing 200lbs each and one english bulldog, have been taken into custody by Animal Control and will remained quarantined for the next few days.

RHAMES' DEADLY DOGS

It was actually Vings mother who called police this morning at 7:15, after discovering the deceased 40-year-old Black man on the front lawn.

The "Mission Impossible", "Baby Boy" and "Kojak" star has yet to release a statement about the incident.

A responsible mastiff breeder takes great pains to place mastiff dogs in homes where there will be appropriate socialization. Human interaction is required with this breed because only a fool wants a huge, unsocialized dog with two inch incisors and jaws that can pop a basketball.

It is almost unheard of for a mastiff to attack. It's unknown if these dogs are english mastiffs or fila brasiliero dogs. But Ving Rhames was previously connected with a Canadian mastiff breeder who was kicked out of the Canadian Kennel Club for cruelty to animals.

Given the legal controversy Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is embroiled in, what is going on with Black men and their dogs???

Check out the latest developments....

BOBBY CUTTS IS NOT THE ONLY BLACK MUTT IN THE DOGHOUSE!

If It's Black, We're On It!

(AP) - Bad dog! Charlie the black lab is in trouble, again, after driving his owner's car into the Pend Oreille River.

Coupled with the dog’s destructive habit of chewing on the family’s furniture, Wednesday’s incident brought Charlie’s damage toll into the thousands.

Luckily for Charlie, his owner has a sense of humor.
“He doesn’t know what he did,” said Mark Ewing, who watched as his Chevy Impala sank in the river.

Ewing had just returned home from picking up a pizza. As he walked to his home, Charlie jumped into the car through an open window and apparently knocked the vehicle into gear.

"He somehow got the car into neutral," Ewing said. "My car just went boom, down an incline and into the drink."

Ewing could only watch as his Chevy Impala sank into the river. No dummy, Charlie jumped out of the window as the car went downhill.

LATEST ON THE JESSE DAVIS MURDER

"There's nothing weirder than looking at your car cruising down your driveway when you're not in it and seeing your dog jump out and then watching your car go splash," Ewing said.

Actually, things got a little weirder when the tow truck driver showed up.

Before the driver dove into the water to hook the car up to his truck, he asked Ewing to hold his dentures.

"My car's in the drink, I've got dentures in my hand and this guy Keith from Clyde's Towing goes swimming," Ewing noted.
