MISTRIAL! Phil Spector Gets Off And Here's The Real Reason Why The Jury Hung!

"At this time, I will find that the jury is unable to arrive at a verdict and declare a mistrial in this matter."

And with those words, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler concluded -- for now -- the case against the crazy-looking, legendary White music producer known as much for his scary hair as being the hitmaker behind folks like Tina Turner.

Spector, 67, was accused of shooting 40-year-old actress Lana Clarkson through the mouth in the foyer of his Alhambra mansion at about 5 a.m. Feb. 3, 2003, after a night of drinking. His defense maintains she shot herself, either by accident or on purpose, with his snub-nosed .38-caliber Colt Cobra.

Weeks ago uber-lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, of OJ Simpson, Geronimo Pratt, and Nicole Richie fame, maintained that the defense could successfully pull this theory off. Here's what she said:

The nine-man, three-woman jury who deliberated for a total of more than 45 hours over twelve days since September 10th, told the judge they were hopelessly deadlock. One of the jurors later indicated that the holdouts were arguing over whether Clarkson was suicidal, and clearly was persuaded by defense attorney when he said the entire jury would have liked to see a psychological profile of Clarkson. Clearly there was a belief that she was off her rocker.

The arrogant bald-headed judge, who admittedly screwed the jury instructions and is now getting death threats online, announced the mistrial at about 1:50 p.m. and by 2:17p.m., Spector and his wife were eastbound on the Santa Monica Freeway headed home in a sleek black Mercedes. Within two hours, defeated prosecutors were back in the game saying hold up partney, we are going to retry this bad boy.

The next hearing on the matter is set at 10 a.m. Oct. 3. Spector remains free on 1 million dollar bail.
