Byron Allen Tells Gloria Allred, “I’ll See You In Court!”

Entertainment Studios is adding to their syndicated roster famed attorney Gloria Allred in what will certainly be daytime television’s most anticipated court show, "We The People with Gloria Allred."

A founding partner of the law firm Allred, Maroko, & Goldberg, the legal heavyweight will preside over outrageous small claims disputes between aggrieved parties. "I've always been passionate about the law, and I'm very excited about this show. I am fully committed to making 'We The People' a huge success," said Allred, who has also indicated that she intends to continue practicing law while she's not on the bench. Here's Saturday Night Live's take on the woman famous for her red St. John's suits:

Having been involved in some of the most controversial cases of our day, including O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson and Tiger Woods, Allred is sure to have fans and critics alike tuning in. "It is unprecedented to have the biggest name in law come to television and be a part of one of its most successful genres – the television court show," said Byron Allen, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Entertainment Studios. "With the increasing success of our show "America's Court with Judge Ross" we are extremely proud to have Ms. Allred join our family and further demonstrate Entertainment Studios' unwavering commitment to be the number one provider of quality television content."

'We The People', Entertainment Studios 28th and newest HD television program, further cements Byron Allen's position as being one of very few independent entertainment companies run and controlled by African Americans. In the Obama era, black celebrities with entrepreneurial acumen such as Will Smith, Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Foxx, and Queen Latifah are showing Hollywood once again that in the business of show, it’s all about the green!

Will Smith Playing Barack Obama Is A No Brainer!

Hollywood film star Will Smith has staked his claim to play Barack Obama in a movie about his rise to become US President and America’s first black leader. And personally, we know Keri Washington wants to play Michelle baaaadly, but our vote is Kimberly Elise -- hands down!

Smith has staked his claim to play the role, even before Barack Obama has been inaugurated as president.

Speaking at the premiere of his new film Seven Pounds at the Empire, Leicester Square, in London, Smith laughed about reports that the US President-elect had indicated that he would like the actor to play him if his life story were ever to be made into a movie.

“If I am ordered by my commander in chief to star in a film about him, I will do my duty as an American," he said, beaming.

Smith, best known for the Men in Black films and Independence Day, says however that he had no desire to move into the White House for real.

"If we were in the White House I don't know if that would exactly be a good thing. The Obamas are much more prepared to be in the White House than the Smiths.

"It's a whole lot more fun to be a movie star. That's a difficult job being President with a whole lot of lives on the line with every decision you make. In my job I just bring joy. I don't bring bad news. I think I'll stay in my position for quite some time." Smith said the “world had changed forever” with the election of Barack Obama.

He said he would be an "eyewitness to history" when he attends the impending inauguration of US President-elect Barack Obama.

Will Smith Opens in Movie "SEVEN POUND"... But What Is He Chasing?

In the beginning of the film Seven Pounds all we know about Ben (Will Smith) is that something terrible has happened in his past, and that he feels responsible for it. That's all. The film is so roundabout and cryptic that it takes half the running time just to figure out the general nature of what's going on. "Seven Pounds" makes a mystery of its lead character and of what he's pursuing, and for a very simple reason:

If the movie were to announce its subject and story in the usual straightforward way, it would seem so ridiculous, far-fetched and borderline distasteful that no one would want to watch it. It might even seem funny.

So director Gabriele Muccino Muccino's task is clear, if difficult - to generate enough magic and to work up just the right mood so as to cast a spell on viewers. That way, when the movie's intentions and meaning are finally made clear, nothing will seem discordant or strange. All will make sense. For the most part, Muccino accomplishes this precise balance.

WHAT???? WILL SMITH AND JADA PINKETT, THE NEW FACE OF SCIENTOLOGY!

Are Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kimora Lee Simmons the new celebrity faces of Scientology? The case is certainly made in “Scientology Under Siege,” Radar magazine’s April cover story.

In the piece, the magazine said, “The Church has also set its sights on African Americans, opening up a center in Harlem in 2003 and making a strong play for Hollywood supercouple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett.”

Despite a fervent denial from Smith’s rep—“I can tell you with 100 percent certainty this is not true”—sources close to Smith earlier told this column that the actor definitely is becoming a member of the religion. “He’s been getting more and more involved (in Scientology),” said one source. “And it isn’t just him, it’s definitely Jada, too.”
“It’s not so much that anyone is upset that Will is becoming a Scientologist,” the source added after seeing a copy of the nine-page Radar piece. “It’s that as he becomes more involved, you’d think he’d sort of help fly the flag with Tom (Cruise), who seems to only get a bad rap for it, while Will does this and comes through just fine.”
As for Kimora Lee Simmons, the Radar piece makes the case for including her among the ranks of celebrity Scientologists. The magazine points to a 2006 gathering where Scientology leader David Miscavige “spoke glowingly of Kimora Lee Simmons’ efforts to distribute a personalized edition of Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness,” featuring her image on the cover, to school kids in New Jersey.” Simmons’ rep said that the designer/model is not a Scientologist.

WILL SMITH: PEOPLE WE WONT SEE GETTING AN OSCAR TONIGHT

SMITH IS THE MAN, RIGHT LADIES!

Though he isn't nominated for an Oscar this year, WILL SMITH gets to add another trophy to his collection, nonetheless. His performance in 'I Am Legend' wins him the Cadet Choice Movie Award, the first honor of its kind bestowed upon him by trainees at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.

The award recognizes the fictional character that best epitomizes the leadership skills desired of a West Point cadet, according to the AP. Smith's character in the film, Dr. Robert Neville, is a selfless military doctor who specializes in kicking zombie butt. For his "value-based leadership," Neville racked up 27 percent of the cadets' 2,200 online votes, beating out King Leonidas (GERARD BUTLER) of '300' and John McClane (BRUCE WILLIS) of 'Live Free or Die Hard,' the news agency reports.

A two-time Oscar nominee -- for his roles in 'Ali' (2002) and 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (2007) -- Will's 'I Am Legend' debuted to a record breaking weekend that topped even the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. AP

Halle Berry, Jay Z, R Kelly, Will Smith & A B2K Sex Scandal Tops Your Special Christmas Day Edition

Halle Berry's Pregnant and her baby belly appears to have doubled overnight. Shopping at the Party Paper Life gift shop in Beverly Hills, the sexy biracial mommy to be was out and about sans model donor Gabriel Aubrey. Don't hate on the White guy family.

Meanwhile, Jean Johnson, 49, used her cellphone camera to snap pictures of R. Kelly during a recent hearing in court and got slammed for it. Ironically, Kelly still hasn't gone to trial on those child porn charges ... After five years. Johnson plead guilty to contempt of court and was sentenced to the five days, but was released for time served.

An Internet rumor that went on ad nauseum, Jay-Z's has finally ditched his Def Jam Post. Giving up or being fired -- whatever works for you -- allows the Donald Trump of hip hop to, in his words, "get back to being a rapper," and ... open a hotel? Jay's boss, L.A. Reid, says he's sorry Jay will be leaving: "He will nonetheless be missed in this executive capacity."

Did Will Smith actually say that Hitler wasn't That Bad? The Jewish Defense League is calling on Barack Obama to repudiate Smith's comments, and wants theaters to pull Smith's new flick "I Am Legend" from their screens. Smith told a Scottish paper that Hitler "didn't wake up going, 'Let me do the most evil thing I can do today.' ... I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was 'good.'"

Chris Stokes who managed the band B2K before they broke up, is saying "Hell to the nah!"over allegations he sexually abused former member Demario "Raz-B" Thorton and his brother, Ricardo aka Ricky Romance . "The accusations that Demario "Raz B" Thorton and Ricardo Thorton have made are vehemently false and hold no merit. I have recently stopped financially supporting both individuals along with assisting them with their criminal and legal matters which leads me to believe they are resentful and looking to benefit financially from this," the producer and director maintains.

FILM OPENING "I AM LEGEND" MAY BE A BIG HIT, BUT THE ORIGNAL "OMEGA MAN" WITH ITS' INTERACIAL SEX GOT OUR ATTENTION

I AM LEGEND is the new Will Smith movie opening today. Just like anything else, throngs of you people will go to this movie and think it is "da bomb" you will declare it a "revolutionary new idea."

But for the record, with all due respect and the pride of every soul sista' and brotha' who remembers the sexy and vivacious actress --- Rolaind Cash and the "I'm so talented I'm acting every where" --- Eric Laneuville; I AM LEGEND is just a remake of the landmark 1971 film, THE OMEGA MAN. And The Omega Man truly was revolutionary. Considering the 1970's Black Splotation movies of that time, coming just after the Watts, Detroit and Philly riots of the late 60's, and in the midst of Black Panther movement, The Omega Man had the nerve to be one of the first movies with a top draw white actor, "Charlton Heston partnered with a black love interest, the late Rosalind Cash. There is a scene in the movie where the two of them are in bed together, partial nudity, where Rosalind gets up ...

THE ORIGINAL OMEGA MAN

... and we see her from the side and back and she is obviously nude. I remember noting way back then'"wow what a heavenly sight. I'm not declaring it the first interracial love scene on the beg screen ever. There were plenty of movies coming out with the Black man as a pimp or White man as a private eye who woke up in the morning with a woman of the opposite race. But this was special because Rosalind Cash was the Co star of this movie and given Heston's stature at the time "wow!", a powerful statement.

I question just how scary can the new I AM LEGEND be given we are so "techno" in our film making now that nothing surprises us and any kind of interracial love really gets no attention. Love with an Alien? Sorry, Star Treks' Captain Kirk has turned them out already. So come on LEGEND Impress us. You don't have to be revolutionary. Just entertain us.

WILL SMITH TO REMAKE KARATE KID... OH HELL TO THE NO!

Will Smith's son Jaden is set to star in a remake of cult classic 'The Karate Kid." Will's nine-year-old son is being lined up to play Daniel LaRusso in a new version of the popular 1984 film, with Jackie Chan as his martial arts mentor Mr. Miyagi. It is rumoured the 'Men In Black' star is set to make his directorial debut and helm the movie.

But I say Hell to the No!

You remember the original Karate Kid, that follows youngster Daniel, who learns karate to help cope with school bullies. The first 'Karate Kid' - which starred Ralph Macchio as Daniel and the late Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi. It was the best and ya' don't mess with the best. I don't care if it has been over 20 years since the first one. Because the first one is a classic. And I certified it as a classic a month ago when I bought the original on DVD. In the midst of my kids clamoring for "Jump In" and "High School Musical" I have made it my purpose every month to pull out a "Classic Movie" And have 'movie night' with them with all the fix'ns; popcorn, juice, sleeping bags and the whole family together. Why? So they will appreciate the anticipation of "an event" and know that classic movies and classic television is where it's at.

Case in point: Last week my kids first grade teacher brings in the theme music to televisions The Adams Family ... but my kids knew all the songs words having already seen at least 12 of the original TV series episodes from my DVD collection. Currently Saturday morning cartoons are a disgrace ... until I whip out my classic Looney Tunes collection, with Bugs, Daffy and Elmer. To the joy of my heart, my twin girls want to be Sylvester and Tweetie for Halloween!

Hello ... that's Mel Blanc's voice they are trying to mimic. As we speak I have someone working on getting me the School House Rock collection. Ya' gotta smile when I ask, "Conjunction Junction what's your function? "
Leave the classics alone.

Will's production company Overbrook Entertainment will produce the remake alongside Jerry Weintraub, producer of the original film. Well if the original producers are involved ... here's a concept. Re-release the original Karate Kid. Todays kids have not seen it and would appreciate it just as much as we did, back then. They re-released the Star Wars original episodes and they made almost as much money as the first release.
You are crazy if you don't think they will re-release Star Wars in another 15 years. Disney does it with all it's classic cartoons. Last month I took my kids to see the original Jungle Book, at the theatre. This was the last movie that Walt Disney personally supervised, so how old is that?? You can't imagine how big my kids eyes got when I took the little "jaded, we've seen it all" tikes to see on a big screen, Mary Poppins!
Does anyone understand me? Or are we ready to do that Wizard of OZ all over again. When is the last time you took out Claudine? You say High School Musical, I say FAME!

You say Dream Girls ... I say SPARKLE! Wow, don't get me going now!

With all the great new and undiscovered screen plays and writer out there, Big Will, you can't tell me there is not an original story you and your son could do. Will Smith if this is going to be your directorial debut and you insist on redoing a classic, I have three words of advice for you ... Wild Wild West.

FLYING OUT OF L.A THIS WEEK? ACTOR WILL SMITH MAY BE PUTTING YOUR PLANS ON ICE

Smith Closes LAX Freeway

"Big Willie" does it - closes down the LAX freeway connection for filming!

Columbia Pictures spent some big cheddar buying city permits to close an elevated section of the 105 Freeway in Southern California to all traffic.

This includes the tunnel under the air strip, for an action film, "John Hancock" staring the Fresh Prince.

Sunday, movie production scheduled a high speed car chase featuring two news helicopters and an explosive car crash. When you see the film, if the actors appear to be sweating - believe that's for real, as temps on the all-cement area hover around 90 degrees.

The closures are expected to be repeated next weekend - so if you live or planning to visit Los Angeles, be forewarned!

Will Smith and action - a winning combo!

Usher, Eve, Will Smith and Mariah Carey Allegedly Outed By White Publicist: Is Gay The New Black?

Is this really anybody's business?

What do actors Cuba Gooding Jr., Jamie Fox, Henry Simmons, Will and Jada Pickett Smith, Rappers Eve, DaBrat Queen Latifah, and singers Alicia Keys, Usher and Mariah Carey all supposedly have in common?

EVE HAS A CRUSH ON ANGELINA JOLIE

A publicist new to the blog game insists that these folks, among others, are playing for both teams and has decided it's time they come out the closet.

Is this cat just a Perez Hilton wannabee, or has gay really become the new Black???

Assume for a moment that these accusations are true. Would it make you love these celebrites any less if they were gay or bisexual???

SUMMER: A TIME TO CELEBRATE OUR CHILDREN

The images of Black children unfortunately are not as balanced in the mainstream media as they should be.

I will admit that I am grateful for the positive images of our children through such entities as Disney and NBC - with shows like That's So Raven and of course The Cosby Show and A Different World.

Yet, in our everyday reality, the negative images pertaining to our children in the news media still out-weigh the positive images of Black children I see everyday in my neighborhood and the school my child attends.

As they say in journalism, if it bleeds, it leads.
