Whitney Houston On Her Way Back... Motivated By A Hot New Mariah Carey
OK, It's not all doom and gloom. Just in time for Mother's Day, one of my favorite moms Whitney Houston, gave a fantastic concert the other night at the Legends Ball in London.Unlike that BET Anniversary Show two years ago, this time Whitney hit every note and showed why she too is a legend.
Could it be all that recent Mariah Carey heat has motivated her to reclaim her crown? After all Mimi...is looking quite delicious these days. She has a hot new CD, a sizzling new body and that cute new husband Nick Cannon. Yes sista' Maria is on a roll.
After all that crack pipe abuse Whitney must give it up to God, because he crated a human body and a spirit that's able to heals it's self in an incredible way. Happy Mother's Day.

Are You Serious??? Mariah Carey Gets Drumline Fever!
Is Nick Cannon the man or what? First it was sexy actress and singer Christina Millan. Then it was Victoria Secret Hottie Selita Ebanks. So now this black man with incredible taste in women looks like he's got Mimi sprung. A source close to Mariah has confirmed to Access Hollywood that the music diva is engaged to Nick Cannon.
The couple sent the rumor mill into overdrive when 38-year-old Mariah (with Nick on her arm) was seen sporting a dazzling new piece of bling on her ring finger at the after party for her Tribeca film, “Tennessee,” in New York.
When asked at the party what he loved about Mariah, 27-year-old Nick gave a one-word answer.“Everything,” he told People.
Up until recently, Mariah had been romantically linked to music executive Mark Sudack. However, she never confirmed the romance.
Mariah was previously married to record executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 – 1998.
Nick was previously engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks in 2007. However, the couple called off the engagement that same year.
This will be the first marriage for the “Drumline” star.

With Music Sales In The Tank, Record Companies Try Peddling Artists By Phone
Nokia Signs Sony BMG To Its Comes With Music OfferingNokia, the world's largest cellphone maker by sales, has now added Sony BMG Entertainment to its Comes With Music service that offers unlimited music downloads for a year on selected devices.
That could certainly boost the practically non-existent record industry, which is now celebrating first week unit sales from Mariah Carey of less than 200,000 as being huge! Never mind that her 2005 Emancipation of Mimi release moved 404,000 units during the same period!
"We think this business model will encourage users to sample a wide range of material, expand their musical tastes, and listen to more music than ever before," said Thomas Hesse, President, Global Digital Business & U.S. Sales, Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
Nokia launched Comes With Music in December, when it partnered with Universal Music, a unit of France-based Vivendi SA. The plan combines the music service with particular Nokia models, allowing users to keep the music tracks they have downloaded after their free year expires.
"It's great to have them on board as we move forward with bringing our unlimited music bundle to the market," said Tero Ojanpera, executive vice president and head of Nokia's entertainment and communities business.
The addition of Sony BMG means Nokia now has the world's two largest record companies on board as it pushes hard into Internet-based services to generate additional revenue and increase brand loyalty. Universal Music Group is the world's largest record company with 28.8% of the global market, while Sony BMG is the second-largest with 20.1%, according to Simon Dyson, principal music analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media.
Universal Music's rosta of artists include Amy Winehouse, Black Eyed Peas, and Gwen Stefani, while Sony BMG artists include Alicia Keys and Leona Lewis. [CNN]

Carey Will Soon Tie Record for No. 1 Sngles With The Fab Four
Move over, Beatles. Mariah Carey is in the house. With her silky voice and genuis songwriting abilities, this sistah will tie the legendary British band for having the most chart-topping hits.
"Touch My Body," the hip-hop diva's newest single, on her latest album "E=MC2" will give her 18 No. 1 singles, knotting her with the group more in the headlines recently for the crazy divorce drama between Paul McCarthey and Heather Mills $48.7 million divorce settlement than incredible songs like "Let It Be" and "Yellow Submarine."
The anticipated follow-up to her last cd (which was slammin') is due to hit stores later this month.
The 37-year-old biracial songstress from Long Island is currently tied with Elvis Presley for second place for top singles.
Carey, the best-selling female singer of all time, showed off her new hit and slimmed-down body on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, sporting stilettos and a micro-miniskirt.
In an interview with Allure magazine, Carey joked that she doesn't need steroids to stay in top shape, but she does have some tricks to keep her voice sharp. Carey said she sometimes sleeps in the steam room of her Tribeca penthouse, claiming it keeps her vocal cords lubricated.
She said she imported a personal trainer from St. Barts to help her trim off an estimated 30 pounds from her 5-foot-9 frame.
"This trainer has actually helped me reshape my arms. That's where I gained most of my weight: upper body," she said. "With this whole steroid crap, that's crazy. I'm almost on the verge where I'd be too muscular if I was going to do a thing like that."
Currently shacking up with a Jack Russell terrier named J.J., and said she's too busy to settle down with a man. (yeah right!) "I mean, I have three personal assistants just to keep up with my schedule. It's not that difficult to become exhausted."
