Prosecutors Make Rapper TI Say Ugh, Na-Na Na-Na!!!
Black rap superstar T.I. has pled guilty to federal weapons charges, as part of a plea deal that could send the rapper to prison for a year.The 28-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was arrested in a federal sting last October just hours befre the BET Hip Hop Awards Show after his bodyguard-turned-informant delivered three machine guns and two silencers to the brother's Atlanta home.
Authorities said that Harris, 27, provided the bodyguard $12,000 to buy the weapons, which Harris is not allowed to own because he is a convicted felon. Court documents said Harris was convicted on felony drug charges in 1998, and a federal affidavit said he has been arrested on gun charges in the past.
U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. will first need to sign off on the plea bargain. When sentenced a year from now, the 27-year-old rapper (born Clifford Harris) could be ordered to perform 1,500 hours of community service, which he would serve by talking to youth groups across the U.S., and about 12 months behind bars.
In addition, T.I. could be sentenced to three years' supervised release, including a year of home detention. He could also be ordered to pay a $100,000 fine.According to the terms of the plea deal, T.I.'s prison term could be increased or reduced, depending on his fulfillment of its terms. The deal says T.I.'s message to the youth groups he'll speak to should focus on the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.
Without a plea bargain, he would have faced a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count. T.I. initially pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been under house arrest since his release on $3 million bond October 26. He was allowed to leave his house to attend church services on Easter Sunday. [CNN]

T.I. DENIED BAIL, TINY ARRESTED AND RUMORED PREGNANT & KANYE WINS BUT DOES ANYONE CARE?
T.I.'s Sweating Bullets, Literally!
Talented but perrenial cry baby Kanye West went home with the win at the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday, but even in victory he couldn't keep the spotlight that Georgia rapper T.I. is all too willing to give up right about now.
What everybody's buzzing about on the Internet is T.I.’s pre-awards drama in the parking lot of an Atlanta shopping center after the brother allegedly accepted delivery of three machine guns and two silencers from a bodyguard. In addition to the weapons at the purchase, police found three other firearms in the vehicle T.I. was driving. There were six more firearms reportedly found at his home. A sprawling mansion he shares with his girl Tiny, rumored to be pregnant again with his seed after a recent miscarriage. The unmarried couple already have one child together.
Clifford Harris, aka T.I., was denied bond on Monday and ordered to remain in jail until his next court appearance on Friday. Apparently federal prosecutors are attempting to have the rapper held without bond until his trial – which has yet to receive a start date and could be months away.Kanye, Common, KRS-One Take Home Awards
U.S. Magistrate Alan Baverman has scheduled a hearing on Friday to determine if there was probable cause for the arrest. The judge will also determine whether T.I. will be able to qualify for bond before the start of the trial.
In refencing Clifford, David E. Nahmias, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, had this to say: "The last place machine guns should be is in the hands of a convicted felon, who cannot legally possess any kind of firearm. This convicted felon allegedly was trying to add several machine guns to an already large and entirely illegal arsenal of guns."
The arrest happened after ATF agents reportedly learned a bodyguard for T.I. was attempting to purchase machine guns without registering them. The bodyguard was arrested on Wednesday for purchasing three machine guns, two silencers and a pistol, and helped police arrange to deliver the guns to T.I. on Saturday. Tameka "Tiny" Cottle was also arrested Saturday for alleged drug possession of marijuana and ecstasy. She was released Sunday on $10,000 bail.

Machine Guns With Silencers are Behind The Brother's Arrest in Atlanta
Music bad boy T.I. was taken into custody this afternoon as the ATF executed a search warrant at the diminutive Black rapper's Georgia home looking for a huge stash of weapontry.
According to Atlanta's FOX 5 News, T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., remains in custody. The convicted felon had several agencies at the scene of the Hotlanta crib he shares with his girl Tiny and their brood. Those on the scene included The ATF, U.S. Marshalls: Fugitive Task Force, Fulton County SWAT, Fulton County PD, Dekalb County PD, and the ATF/Atlanta PD Violent Crime Impact Team.
Authorities say it was T.I.'s bodyguard who tipped law enforcement off, admitting to the purchase of about nine firearms for T.I. in the past and about 17 firearms for other people in the musician's posse on previous occasions. The bodyguard claims the rapper gave him cash to purchase the guns, because T.I. was not able to legally buy firearms. The bodyguard was arrested last week trying to buy several guns. After his arrest, the bodyguard agreed to cooperate with authorities-- that cooperation led to today's arrest.
With all kinds of film and music projects lined up, including a movie with Denzel Washington set for November release and a slated performance at tonight's BET Hip-Hop Awards (scheduled to air October 17), the timing of this arrest couldn't be worse. The award winning rapper has nine nominations, more than any other artist at the event. Something's telling me right about now, however, this really doesn't mean much.

HEY T.I, THE BLACK MAN IN THE MIRROR IS MAKING YOU LOOK BAD
T.I. vs. T.I.P.
Grammy Award-winning rapper, T.I., born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. seems to have done it again. After many fans accepted his “humble” apology for getting into an altercation with rival Ludacris’ manager just days before his big night at the BET Awards, T.I.P. decided to have a July bout.
While performing at an ESPY pre-party last Tuesday, a fan threw a cup onstage, which infuriated the self-proclaimed “King of the South” to jump off stage and confront the fan. In an effort to keep his hands clean, T.I. hit the culprit with the microphone, bloodying the man.
T.I.’s latest July incident follows an altercation that he got into with rapper Ludacris’ manager, Chaka Zulu at a luncheon called "Make It Happen" aimed at power brokers with actress Holly Robinson Peete as the guest of honor. Classy, huh? Days later, while he was accepting his BET Award for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, he apologized for the altercation, but mainly blamed it on his “alter ego,” T.I.P.
“On behalf of my partner T.I.P., I want to apologize for what happened the other day. They say there’s a fine line between brilliance and insanity.”In case you’re confused, T.I. declares that he has an alter ego, T.I.P. that often battles with T.I.
Apparently, T.I. is a calm, cool, collected businessman who can mingle with Hollywood stars and fashion and music moguls. T.I.P. is the crazy side that you’d see fighting outside of a club.
All this fantasy sounds great for onstage freestyle battles with himself to show the fans how versatile his style can be.
It should do wonders for his latest album, T.I vs. T.I.P., which instantly topped the charts when it was released earlier this month. He even got some praise for being a man and owning up to his immaturity in that half-assed apology on stage at the BET Awards.
Now that he’s assaulted a thoughtless and angry fan at an ESPY’s pre-show concert, it’s becoming clear that his “T.I.P.” persona is simply a front to hide the irate person that he really is. I’m hoping he decides to keep the whole, “T.I.P vs. T.I.” excuse for the stage, since a judge in a real court won’t care what comic book hero he’s trying to be before sentencing. These fights are an obvious pattern of constant loss of control which is bound to escalate. Are we to expect a shooting next month when someone talks bad about his Momma?
His main success is primarily in music, but he also has his hands in acting and a clothing line. With these multiple endeavors taking off, someone needs to calm his ass down, and make him realize that fighting every month with the next man that doesn’t like him will only bring him down before he can be a complete success. We need proof that he can live up to his potential as one of the main players in the recent popular business of music, clothes, and acting.
Whether he likes it or not, T.I. is representing his industry which is increasingly under more scrutiny for its negative characteristics that keep playing out in real life just about everyday. He’s representing successful Black businessmen that appeal to a huge, adoring audience, ready to suck up all that he gives them. Everything he wants is sitting right in his lap, it’s just up to him to either continue to prove how tough he is (T.I.P.), or how smart he is (Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.)
