Dara Torres Doping Like Marion Jones? Will Super Mom Take The Test? Is She The Real Deal?

At least that is what everyone is saying and why shouldn't we? I mean really, how many 41 year olds go out and set swimming records like Dara did in the 50 freestyle semi and then win the 100 freestyle at the US Olympic Trials? How many recent, over age 40 super athletes have been "the real deal"; doing incredible feats of sports strength unassisted by drugs? I only know of one athlete and that was...
George Foreman who regained the Heavy Weight Championship at age 45. Does that mean the Foreman Grille is the only 'real deal'.?
Because the rest of the "Geriatric Giants List", Roger Clemens and his 'cut-up' wife, Sammy Sousa, Barry Bonds, are all over age 40 and all guilty of steroids or growth hormones.

All of us have a knee jerk reaction in these post Balco times when we hear or see with our own eyes any athlete kicking butt, especially if they are past their prime or have had some sort of injury or illness.

This is yet another reason why Tiger Woods is truly "the real deal". Earlier this year he had just recovered from knee surgery. He then steps out to play his first tournament a lot sooner than we all really thought he should. He then has the nerve to choose as his 'coming out' performance, not a little tune-up PGA tournament, no, Tiger chooses golfs 2008 U.S. Open as the first test of his surgery.
After 5 days of intense knee pain, stiff competition and miraculous shots, Tiger rose victorious. In the postscript Tiger is headed to surgery and can't play golf for the rest of the year and for who knows how long. That is what we expect. That is 'the real deal.'

So excuse us Darra as we take a wait-and-see position. We do wish you good luck, because we want to believe and partially because you have one cute little baby.

MLB And Union Reach Pack On Drug Policy, But No One Named In Mitchell Report Is Punished?

Jose Guillen Gets Off???

Wait one minute. We have a former US Senator do an investigation, the likes we haven't seen since the Nuremberg trials. The good senator then releases a list of current and former baseball players that he says are definitely dirty and cheated to get where they are in baseball. And then...

... we then have congressional hearing for these ball players to confess or and most lie about their use. But today, Major League Baseball announces no one listed in his report will get prosecuted or disciplined at all???

What a waste of Americas time and money, again. And for Jose Guillen...

The uncertainty is finally over. His 15-day suspension for violations of Major League Baseball's drug-prevention policy has been commuted, it was announced Friday afternoon.

"Now it's time to focus on baseball and put this behind me and help this team to win some more games," a smiling Guillen said. "It's not going to be an issue anymore, and I'm glad it's over with."

Guillen received his penalty on Dec. 6, 2007, just after he had signed a three-year, $36-million contact with the Royals. Club management was aware that a suspension was possible at the time.

With Friday's announcement that MLB and the Players Association have agreed to an enhanced drug policy that enacts all of former Sen. George Mitchell's recommendations, Guillen's punishment was revoked.

Roger Clemens Takes The Marion Jones Approach To Steroid Allegations!

WHO'S LYING???

WASHINGTON -- Roger Clemens was told he didn't sound believable. Brian McNamee was branded a "drug dealer" and reminded of past lies. With Congress apparently split over which man's version of events is true, it could be up to the Justice Department to decide.

Clemens and McNamee, the accused and his accuser, traded contradictory stories under oath Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform about whether the star pitcher was injected with steroids and human growth hormone by his former personal trainer.

One Black Man's Take On This Barry Bonds-Type Controversy

And while many baseball fans are turning their attention to Florida and Arizona for the first official workouts of spring training Thursday _ ready for cries of "Play ball!" instead of talk about foul play _ there is sure to be more discussion of Clemens and McNamee in the nation's capital.

"It's just sad," Clemens' former manager with the New York Yankees, Joe Torre, said in Vero Beach, Fla., on the eve of his first camp with the Los Angeles Dodgers. "I'd just like to see baseball move on right now."

Will George Bush Pardon Clemens?

After the 400-page Mitchell Report, which contained the first public airing of McNamee's allegations about Clemens, and a 4 1/2-hour House hearing about their he-said, he-said, little is settled.

"They don't disagree on a phone call or one meeting," committee chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said during the hearing. "If Mr. McNamee is lying, he has acted inexcusably, and he has made Mr. Clemens an innocent victim. If Mr. Clemens isn't telling the truth, then he is acting shamefully and has smeared Mr. McNamee. I don't think there is anything in between."

Yet, afterward, Waxman told reporters: "I haven't reached any conclusions at this point" as to whether a criminal investigation is warranted.

Several congressmen said a referral from the committee isn't needed to trigger a Justice Department inquiry if prosecutors believe either man made false statements.

Sitting in the second row Wednesday was IRS Special Agent Jeff Novitzky, a key member of the team prosecuting Barry Bonds. Bonds, baseball's home run king, was indicted in November on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from his 2003 testimony to a grand jury in which he denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs.

It was Novitzky who last month collected used needles and bloody gauze pads that McNamee's camp turned over for testing. The trainer's lawyers call the items evidence that contains performance-enhancing drugs and Clemens' DNA. Clemens' side call the items "manufactured."

Either way, the Justice Department has them.

McNamee told baseball investigator George Mitchell he injected Clemens 16 to 21 times with performance-enhancing drugs from 1998 to 2001. On Wednesday, McNamee said those numbers are low. Keep reading>>>

ROGER CLEMENS THE LIAR, THE CHEATER* (ASTERISK)

I don't want to say we told you so... but we did. Yesterday, we ran this picture.

And we told you that baseball's MVP , seven time Sy Young Award winner and World Series winner Roger Clemens is a liar. And we also accurately told you that the testimony would hinge not on what Roger did or didn't do but on his wife Debbie's obvious use of steroid and/or growth hormones. If Debbie is not on the juice... Roger is married to a Terminator. I'm telling you Debbie has gone Bionic Woman and Roger knew it. He not only knew his wife ...

was taking HGH (growth hormone), but he knew the guy who was shooting her up Brian McNamee, is his own trainer, the same guy who says he shot Roger up with steroids.

Roger Clemens thinks the public is stupid enough also to believe:

A. He doesn't know what HGH is. (Roger, Yogi and Boo Boo live in a cave) B. He didn't know his wife, who he sleeps with every day, was taking it.

C. That his own trainer, Brian Mc Namee, the guy accusing him, was the one shooting it into his wife.

D. That he didn't know Andy Pettit, his best friend, took them.

E. That Andy has gone Mr. Magoo, and doesn't really remember hearing Roger talk about taking his own HGH or steroids.
F. That Andy's wife must be crazy because even she knew her best friends, the Clemens family, were on the juice.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE... If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and throws strikeouts like a mechanical cyborg. It's a juiced up Duck on growth hormones!!!

Roger you need to come clean. Media and press you need to press this just like you pressed Barry Bonds for the last two years **** asterisk, asterisk on all Clemens records and awards.

ROGER CLEMENS GOES BEFORE CONGRESS TODAY

Check out this picture of Roger Clemens and you will know exactly what all the fuss is about. That women in the bikini is no regular Sports Illustrated swimsuit beauty. No, that hottie is Roger's wife. Check out those abs. His wife is ripped, but not from crunch exercises and healthly eating.

Because, when I tell you she is a mother of 4 childen you then know it is all about drugs and steroids... Couples should share, but damn Roger and his wife have been obvioulsly sharing the Steroid needle. And if it is not obvious, todays congressional hearing will bring it all into the light. Former Yankee superstar Roger Clemens, one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, will face a congressional grilling on steroids that could tarnish his legacy - and ultimately land him in jail for perjury.

Clemens and his chief accuser and former trainer, Brian McNamee, will tell the lawmakers such contradictory stories that one could end up cited for lying under oath. Catch the hearings live on MSNBC

Okay We Get 50 Cent, But Why Would Mary J. Blige, Timbaland and Wyclef Jean Be On Somebody's Steroids?

Music's Top Black Artists Named In Shocking Steroid Use Scandal

Citing unidentified sources, a report is alleging that all these brothers and sisters, along with award-winning author and producer Tyler Perry, may have received or used performance-enhancing drugs.

While the Grammy-winning Blige blasted the report, others were much more on the hush-hush.

Guess it wasn't enough to get Marion Jones and Barry Bonds, not that we're feeling particularly sorry for either one of them right now.

Click here to read the Times Union report

Law-enforcement officials have said evidence does not indicate the celebrities broke the law. For now, at least, officials are focusing on the doctors, pharmacists and clinics providing the drugs.

Albany District Attorney David Soares launched his investigation into steroid trafficking last year.

So far, 10 defendants have pleaded guilty and some professional athletes have been linked to the probe in news reports. Records shared with the Times Union and information from several cooperating witnesses on Long Island indicate the celebrities received prescribed human growth hormone or steroids. In some cases, aliases were used for their delivery.

ROGER CLEMENS WON'T COME CLEAN AND NEITHER WILL THE SPORTS MEDIA

Though a video on his website, Roger Clemens has again denied any use of steroids and HGH. Clemens will also have a 60 Minutes interview this week. We expect he'll continue to deny it. Clemens' friend Andy Pettitte has acknowledged his own use. And you and I both know, you usually do what your friends are doing. You can not stray too far away.

So when will the sports press and other "investigative reporters" start blasting like they have already done on slugger Barry Bonds for this pastyear? When are we going to get the interview with Roger Clemens and Black ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, firing the questions. That's what I call kicking this whole investigation and discovery up a notch. Until then I agree with Barry, this is all so lame.

Black Baseball Stars Give Barry Bonds Some Company

As someone who regularly attended Dodger games as a child due to the season tickets behind homeplate my grandmother had access to, I am quite disappointed in the lastest findings in the now ever so popular Mitchell Report.

* Roger Clemens, 45, New York Yankees pitcher. Regarded as one of the greatest pitchers ever. A seven-time winner of the Cy Young Award given to the league's best pitcher, who has also been named a Most Valuable Player, Clemens may retire after pitching for the New York Yankees in 2007.

* Andy Pettitte, 35, Yankees pitcher and close friend of Clemens. They shared a personal trainer who admitted in the report with supplying them with performance-enhancing drugs.* Miguel Tejada, 31, Houston Astros shortstop. Formerly with the Baltimore Orioles, where several current and former players were also named, including Rafael Palmeiro, David Segui, Brian Roberts and Larry Bigbie.

* Eric Gagne, 31, Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher. Winner of the 2003 National League Cy Young award, he holds the all-time record for 84 consecutive saves.* Barry Bonds, 43, San Francisco Giants outfielder. Major League Baseball's all-time homerun leader, Bonds was indicted in November and charged with perjury and obstruction of justice for lying about use of anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing substances during his testimony before a federal grand jury investigating the Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative. Bonds has pleaded not guilty.

* Jason Giambi, 36, Yankees first baseman and a former Most Valuable Player. Giambi admitted taking performance-enhancing drugs in an interview in May. The 13-year veteran then discussed his drug use with Mitchell and Commissioner Bud Selig let Giambi off the hook because of his cooperation.

* Gary Sheffield, 39, Detroit Tigers outfielder. Sheffield had admitted using steroids, but claimed he thought they were vitamins. Mitchell submitted a series of questions to Sheffield but they went unanswered by the time the report was issued.* Mark McGwire, retired, first baseman. A prolific slugger with the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, McGwire at one time held the single season homerun record when he hit 70 in 1998. That mark was later eclipsed by Bonds, who thumped 73 homers in 2001.

* Jose Canseco, retired, outfielder/designated hitter. A slugger with the Oakland Athletics and former teammate of McGwire, Canseco, admitted steroid use in his 2005 book "Juiced."

* Kevin Brown, retired, pitcher. A six-time All Star with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he went to the World Series with the San Diego Padres and Florida Marlins. Also played with the Texas Rangers and the Yankees.

* David Justice, retired, outfielder. Three-time All-Star with the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves and the Yankees and ex-hubby of actress Halle Berry.

* Chuck Knoblauch, retired, second baseman, a Minnesota Twins 1991 Rookie of the Year. Also played with the Yankees and Kansas City Royals.

* Mo Vaughn, retired, first baseman. 1995 American League MVP and three-time All-Star with the Boston Red Sox, California Angels and New York Mets.

BREAKING NEWS: BLACK HOMERUN KING BARRY BONDS INDICTED ON FEDERAL CHARGES

Is This Payback For Breaking Hank Aaron's Record, Or Is This Giant In Serious O.J. Trouble?

You knew it was coming and now it's official. Orenthal James has agreed to a plea deal! Yeah right.

Unfortunately, it's San Francisco's Barry Bonds who's next at bat as a Bay Area grand jury has indicted the 43-year-old home run champion on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.

The indictment comes after a four-year federal investigation into whether the brother lied to the grand jury probing steroid use by professional athletes. Just three months ago, Bonds surpassed legendary Hank Aaron's home run record, and was then promptly dismissed by the San Francisco Giants.

MARION JONES GUILTY, IT'S OFFICIAL!

Because of this revelation, I really don't feel well today. I don't like myself and I'm not too happy about those around me. Perhaps I'm internalizing this too much. Maybe I'm too old to be believing in heroes. Perhaps no one is doing the "right thing" any of the time, anymore.

I ran track in high school and watched Marion in those Sydney Olympics. I even watch all the prelim races I could before she even got to the finals. It got to the point where she was so consistent with how she got ready to run that I would amaze my friend. When we sat together I could tell you everything she was going to do before she got into the sprinters blocks, when she was in the blocks and before the gun went off. I had her every movements and nuance down. And I realize this consistent routine brought calm and focus to her running efforts and I was mad that my own track coaches never hip me to something that was so basic.

America, I feel bad. You say you don't get me? Well, when I tell you the last time I felt this bad was when figure skater Debbie Thomas fell to the ice in the finals of those Winter Olympics ... I bet you know how I feel now. For those of you who want some of today's details, here they are below. And for those who are choked up like I am and don't care to read the gruesome details ... go to the next article.

JIM FITZGERALD of AP reports: For years, Marion Jones angrily denied using steroids. On Friday, she admitted it was all a lie. The three-time Olympic gold medalist pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators when she denied using performance-enhancing drugs, and announced her retirement after the hearing. Jones also pleaded guilty to a second count of lying to investigators about her association with a check-fraud scheme.

Outside the U.S. District Court, Jones broke down in tears as she apologized for her actions, saying she understands she has disappointed her friends, family and supporters. "I want you to know that I have been dishonest and you have the right to be angry with me," said, pausing frequently to regain her composure while her mother stood behind her, a supportive hand on Jones' shoulder. "I have let (my family) down. I have let my country down, and I have let myself down. I recognize that by saying I'm deeply sorry, it might not be enough and sufficient to address the pain and hurt that I've caused you. Therefore, I want to ask for your forgiveness for my actions, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

After her tearful statement, Jones, her mother and her attorney drove away in a black limousine. She did not take questions.

Friday marked a stunning fall from grace for Jones, once the most celebrated female athlete in the world. She captivated the country with the audacious goal of winning five gold medals at the Sydney Olympics. Though she fell short -- only three of her five medals were gold, the other two bronze -- her winsome smile and charming personality made her a star.

Seven years later, she is broke, her reputation is ruined and she is looking at prison time.

BREAKING NEWS: MEDICAL EXAMINER REPORTS ON WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WITH WRESTLER CHRIS BENOIT

Chris Benoit Just Might be the 3-Count for Wrestling

Today, Georgia medical examiner Kris Sperry just released the toxicology report detailing more shocking information surrounding the murder-suicide case of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit.

Among the findings:

* Benoit's 7 year-old Daniel was clearly sedated with Xanex before his life was taken. The examiner found this to be unusual. His murder was pre-meditated, but was it roid rage???

* Illegal, anabolic steroid usage not found. Drug and medication usage, including steroid testosterone, was found in Benoit's body. It appears Benoit, 40, had injected the testosterone into his body.

* Levels of drugs found in the wrestler's wife's body were elevated. Nancy Benoit actually had three different types of drugs in her system, including alcohol. The levels in her body, however, were not toxic. Rather, Sperry indicated that they were at therapeutic levels.

* Not one of the three individuals died of a drug overdose.

A BLACK MAN WRESTLES WITH CHRIS BENOIT'S DEATH AS THE FBI RAIDS HIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE

Chris Benoit Just Might be the 3-Count for Wrestling

by Jayar Jackson

I’m willing to admit it, I was caught up in the male soap opera that is professional wrestling a few years ago in 2000.

LATEST: BENOIT'S DOCTOR ARRESTED!

Everyone made fun of it, but when Monday Night Raw came on and you got to hear The Rock so eloquently talk smack and back up the well-written script on the wrestling mat, we snuck to the safe house of other pathetic fans and cheered it on.

Doctor Gave Testosterone To Benoit, His Office Raided Last Week by FBI

“No dog, I didn’t see Stone Cold Steve Austin get up from 15 metal chair blows to the forehead and win the match with one flying elbow. I was gone writing my midterm paper.”

While I lost interest in it after a couple of years, the story being played out in real life should be endangering the entire existence of the sport.

In the latest real life soap opera involving the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), formerly the WWF (Federation), another immensely popular figure has traumatically died in an apparent double murder-suicide.

Wrestling champion Chris Benoit, 40, was found dead along with his wife, Nancy and 7 year-old son, Daniel inside their lavish Fayetteville, Georiga home.

The deaths were caused by asphyxiation due to strangulation and suffocation before Benoit took his own life by hanging himself with a cord from a home weight machine.

As more facts keep coming out, the horror and disbelief that has stricken millions of wrestling fans will undoubetedly wane.

WAS THIS THE REASON BENOIT SNAPPED?

Often criticized for being obviously fake, the king of wrestling entertainment, WWE, has most recently been fighting charges of rampant steroid use among their most popular figures.

Drug related deaths have taken the lives of several popular wrestlers over the past several years.

In 2003, “Mr. Perfect," Curt Hennig was found dead in a Florida hotel room, just before a scheduled wrestling match. The Tampa Coroner and Medical Examiner's offices declared acute cocaine intoxication the official cause of his death.

His father said steroids and painkillers contributed to his death.

Wrestler Eddie Guerrero was found unconscious in 2005 inside a Minnesota hotel room by his nephew, Chavo.

An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of acute heart failure, caused by undiagnosed arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He was also linked to steroid use.

So surprisingly, when Sheriff Lt. Tommy Pope discovered “a lot of prescription medication” in the Benoit home, it doesn’t take a toxicology expert to figure out that 2+2 equals illegal steroid use contributed to yet another wrestling tragedy.

Although some medical professionals say proof of a link to extreme rage brought on by steroids, also known as “roid-rage,” is unlikely to surface from toxicology reports, the accounts of numerous ex-wrestlers suggest that there are no other alternatives.

Former professional wrestler Del Wilkes said athletes use steroids to gain strength and size, with the drugs sometimes causing "moments of uncontrollable rage."

Wilkes also said the drugs can also cause "tremendous" depression "when guys are coming off of them after long usage.

As WWE Chairman Vince McMahon continues to strongly denounce all accusations that the killings were connected to steroid use, more damning evidence of the opposite leaks out.

They claim that roid-rage couldn’t have been involved because Benoit tested negative in April. They also point out the two Bibles that were found next to the wrist and ankle bound Nancy Benoit and the murdered son. This apparently shows premeditation, not rage.

Am I the only person that heard the account from people that were very close to the use of steroids when they said it causes uncontrollable rage and then tremendous depression?

It took Benoit all weekend to take the lives of his entire family before realizing what he had done and depressingly taking his own life on the last day.

Are we so wrapped up in the excitement of a red-faced, pissed off, bump covered, over-grown ass man, relentlessly acting like he’s pulling on the arm of a counterpart that we’re going to believe this?

Imagine for a second that the reborn, immensely popular crossover career of singer Justin Timberlake has come about due to an injection or pill that he could take to make his voice smoother, and make his dance moves be likened to that of Michael Jackson.

Would we sit by, applaud and call him a hero if these pills turned him green and made him rip his shirt off as he beat the life out of his girlfriend and any innocent child in the vicinity? Hell no!

So for every time someone calls Chris Benoit a hero and believes the asinine comments from the mouth of Vince McMahon, I’m going to call him an enraged victim and murderer of two.

Maybe I’m a grumpy old man caught in a 27 year old body, but where can I find footage of “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler vs. Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns?

Those were the days! That's when beating the hell out of each other only made you live uncomfortably in old age, not keeping you from ever seeing it.
