Did A Prominent Black Doctor In L.A. Sexually Assault A 15-Year-Old & Other Patients?

Held in jail on a $4-million bail, Dr. Kevin Brown's arrest came after several women contacted authorities and accused Brown of sexually battering or raping them during medical examinations. Son of the premier in Bermuda, Brown faces 19 felony counts, including a lewd act on a 15-year-old, rape, sexual battery by fraud and sexual exploitation.

The alleged assaults occurred between Nov. 6, 2006, and May 31, 2008. If convicted, the 37-year prominent physician faces 27 years in state prison.

At the time of his arrest Monday, Brown was free on bail for a previous sexual assault arrest. Brown also operates the Urban Health Institute of Los Angeles. The charity, which is run out of the same building as Brown's practice, seeks to provide disaster relief in the United States, South America and throughout Africa.

Founded by Brown, the institute has held fundraisers at the Playboy mansion. The events have featured celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian, Don Cheadle, Shannon Elizabeth and Hugh Hefner. Newspapers in Bermuda have reported that its tourism board provided free vacations to the charity. The trips were given as prizes for donors to the charity.

Brown is also being investigated in a multimillion-dollar healthcare fraud probe by the state. As for the new allegations, at least three cases are being prepared against Brown, Deputy Dist. Atty. Ann Marie Wise said in court, and four other patients have come forward and will be interviewed by investigators.

Regarding the eight cases in which Brown has already been charged, at least one of the incidents occurred outside Brown's medical office when he went to the home of a female patient in Alhambra and allegedly raped her, Wise said.

The California Medical Board also has filed a motion with the court to suspend or revoke Brown's medical license, she said.

The doctor's attorneys, Keith Bowman and Blair Berk, portrayed Brown as a physician arrested for touching patients and said that detectives went to the media to appeal for more victims.

Brown allegedly molested eight patients over a two-year period. He is also being investigated by the state for "multiple healthcare fraud schemes and over prescription of Oxycodone," according to court documents. He has not been charged in connection with that inquiry. Source

CHARGES AGAINST BLACK DEFENDANT ACCUSED OF RAPE DISMISSED BECAUSE INTERPRETER NOT FOUND

Prosecutor Appeals Ruling

ROCKVILLE, Md. — A highly charged case involving a Liberian native accused of repeatedly raping and molesting a 7-year-old girl took an interesting turn when a prosecutor said Monday that he is filing an appeal of a controversial judge's decision in the matter.

Montgomery County's Judge Katherince Savage ruled on July 17 that Mahamu Kanneh, a Liberian who received asylum in the U.S. and attended high school and community college here, was denied a speedy trial after three years awaiting a court-appointed interpreter who could speak the West African tribal language of Vai.

Linguists estimate that only 100,000 people speak Vai.

Savage called her decision to dismiss all charges one of the most difficult she's had to make in a long time, especially since she was aware of "the gravity of this case and the community's concern about offenses of this type."

Det. Omar Hasan wrote in the charging document that the victim "attempted to physically stop the behavior from the defendant, but was unsuccessful," the Washington Post reported. Kanneh threatened the young girl "with not being able to leave the apartment unless she engaged in sexual behavior with the defendant," Hasan wrote in his report.

McCarthy charged the delays cited in Savage's order to dismiss the "result of the court locating a qualified interpreter," and not the fault of the prosecutor.

"The fact is on four separate occasions this court provided Vai interpreters," McCarthy said, adding that one of the interpreters had agreed to participate in further proceedings.

Court records, meanwhile, show that an interpreter was "sworn" by a Maryland court on the same day Savage dismissed the case, FOXNews.com has learned.

Fox is also reporting that the defendant was actually able to converse in English with a reporter who interviewed him about this story.

ANOTHER GENARLOW? BLACK UNIV. OF MINN. CORNERBACK CHARGED WITH RAPE AFTER ACT IS CAPTURED ON A CELL PHONE

Prosecutors are calling it rape via cell phone, charging University of Minnesota cornerback Dominic Jones with third-degree criminal sexual conduct on a drunk, unconscious woman.

Bail was just set at 25,000 as Jones entered a not guilty plea.

A friend of Jones had taken a video of part of the assault on his cell phone at the apartment that night back in April. The file was deleted, but forensic experts examining the phone were able to recover a portion of the deleted file.

In the video, the female appears to be unresponsive. Per the criminal complaint, her blood-alcohol level was estimated at least 0.30 percent by a doctor who reviewed police reports and witness statements. That's three times the legal limit.

Prosecutors said the male identified in the video is in fact Jones.

A junior strong safety from Columbus, Ohio, Jones, 20, has been called one of the Gophers' best defensive players. He's started 20 straight games over the last two seasons and gained the reputation of a fiery competitor with a knack for making big hits despite being just 5 feet 8.

READ THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT HERE

Jones was in court today and will reportedly have prominent defense attorney Earl Grey defending him.

What's even more bizarre about this case is former Gopher and convicted felon Robert McField is the one who brought the victim and her friend to the University Village apartment. Court documents are claiming it was actually McField who gave the victim eight shot glasses of straight vodka.

The burning question, however, is why was McField still living in University housing? The month before the party, he had pleaded guilty to two felony counts of armed robbery in Missouri.

McField is currently on lockdown for commiting those offences.

The university had known for months about the allegations, and McField had actually been kicked off the football team in October because of them. It was not until several weeks after the party that McField was finally kicked out of school as well.

The University of Minnesota's attorney Mark Rotenberg said, "There was a period of time between when this student plead guilty to the crimes and the date to which we got him out of the University. That time lag was unfortunate."

Three other players -- Alex Daniels, E.J. Jones and Keith Massey, Jones' half-brother -- are still suspects in this case months after being arrested and then released. All four players being named in the case have been suspended from the football team.

VIDEO REPORT ON THE GOPHER FOOTBALL SCANDAL

If these young brothers engaged in criminal misconduct, they need to be held accountable. Too bad if these Black men are in college -- you do the crime, you do the time!

That said, this story is heartbreaking. All we can hope for family, is that justice is served!

BLACK FOLKS HAVE GONE FROM EATING CHICKEN TO BEING BARBEQUED

"He was well done."

That's what one woman said Monday after helping her son apprehend an alleged child rapist using her barbecue meat fork.

"I stuck him in his butt!" Linda Rhodes told MyFOXdfw.com, explaining how she and her son John Jennings apprehended the 17-year-old suspect Friday night in Garland, Texas.

Click here to watch the video report from FOX.

Jennings was barbecuing chicken when he heard a 7-year-old boy calling for help. He said he saw the suspect, Deshaun Ridge, on top of the child, allegedly raping the boy.

You know we're all thinking the same thing about this post!

The thing that gets me about this story is _________ (fill in the blank)

GENARLOW WILSON: WILL GEORGIA HIGH COURT HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO RIGHT BY THIS YOUNG BLACK MAN?

Sometimes We Forget That Judges Are Just Law School Students With A Title

Giving no reason for the decision to reverse themselves and move the case ahead on their docket, Genarlow Wilson will get a hearing before Georgia's top court earlier than what was first reported.

Anyone who continues to argue for this former homecoming king, scholar-athlete's imprisonment has absolutely no conscious.

The state Supreme Court on Monday said they would hear a pair of appeals from Wilson, who's serving a 10-year prison sentence for having oral sex with a fellow teenager, next week.

A White Monroe County judge last month actually had the guts to say that Wilson's sentence was "a grave miscarriage of justice" and ordered him released.

But state Attorney General Thurbert Baker and candidate for 2007 Uncle Tom honors appealed that decision saying the judge overstepped his bounds.

This brother actually had the nerve to argue that the ruling could help free some 1,300 child molesters in Georgia's jails. Trust me, his assertions are completely self-serving, especially since the Black Democrat is the only state-wide elected official of color in Georgia.

Wilson's lawyer, B.J. Bernstein, has asked for Wilson to be released on bond while the appeal is decided. A Douglas County judge denied that request, saying Wilson's conviction on the charge of aggravated child molestation made him ineligible for bond.

Initially scheduled to hear Wilson's appeal in October, The high court said it would consider appeals on both the underlying case and the bond issue on July 20.

Now 21, Wilson is serving a 10-year mandatory sentence for aggravated child molestation stemming from a 2003 New Year's Eve party where he was captured on videotape receiving oral sex from a fellow 15-year-old female high school student. The law has since been changed by Georgia lawmakers, but the state's top court said the new law could not be applied retroactively.

Wilson was also charged in 2003 with raping a 17-year-old girl at the party, but a jury acquitted him of the charges.

Five other high school partygoers accepted plea deals in the case. Wilson has rejected plea offers, including one that would allow him to avoid being listed on Georgia's sex offender registry.

DUKE D.A.GETS DISBARRED FOR GOING AFTER PRIVILEGED WHITE BOYS ACCUSED OF RAPING BLACK STRIPPER

Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong will be disbarred for his prosecution of three Duke University lacrosse players falsely accused of rape, a North Carolina state bar disciplinary committee decided Saturday.

"This matter has been a fiasco. There's no doubt about it," said committee chairman F. Lane Williamson.

Sitting motionless as Williamson recounted how he engaged in dishonest and deceitful conduct, even the embattled and disgraced Nifong agreed the punishment was appropriate.

Nifong's early comments about the case—which included a confident proclamation that he wouldn't allow Durham to become known for "a bunch of lacrosse players from Duke raping a black girl"—were purposefully designed to boost his campaign for district attorney.

Having previously announced he was resigning his position as chief prosecutor of Durham, Nifong has stated he has no plans to appeal the state agency's decision!

MEDIA ALERT! MIKE NIFONG RESIGNS DA POSITION

Duke Rape Case Takes A Stunning Turn!

Durham County District Attorney Michael Nifong admitted using poor judgment when he made inflammatory comments by referring to three Duke University students as "a bunch of hooligans."

Desperately trying to hang on to his law license, Nifong apologized to the North Carolina legal community as well as the three young men accused of assaulting Crystal Gail Mangum, an African-American stripper who shook a tail feather for some privileged White athletes at a private party.

One defense attorney called Nifong's mea culpa "too little too late."

Accused lacrosse player Reade Seligman was the only former Duke student who took the stand, breaking down in tears and recalling how it felt to have Black Panthers shouting out at him, "You're a dead man!"

Given Thursday's conviction of KKK member James Ford Seale for murdering two Jackson, Mississippi Black men in 1964, maybe we're all starting to understand what it means to stand in each other's shoes.

Of course at the center of this explosive racial controversy is a Black woman with a shaky past who alleged that Seligman, David Evans and Collin Finnerty raped, kidnapped and sexually assaulted her.

The alleged attack took place at a lacrosse team party on March 13, 2006.

Seligmann, Evans and Finnerty were each indicted last year before the state attorney general took over the case in January. Nifong later recused himself after the North Carolina State Bar Association charged him with misconduct in his handling of the case.

Were these guys totally innocent? No. That said, all charges against the three men were rightfully dismissed.

And yet the fallout continues.

As his misconduct trial wore on, it was clear that Nifong was starting to see the writing on the wall. "It's my intention to resign as District Attorney of Durham." a choked-up Nifong stated.

"It would not be fair to my community to put them through a recall. They have suffered enough!"

INTRODUCING THE SOUTH AFRICAN ANTI-RAPE CONDOM

A
An Ounce Of Prevention Is Worth A Pound... Of Johnson

Introducing RapeX, a female condom that damages a rapist's penis after penetration with sharp microscopic barbs that hook into the skin. Ouch!!!!

After the man is incapacitated, this gives the woman time to escape. The condom can only be surgically removed (thereby catching the perp redhanded), but supposedly will not cause major damage if removed immediately.

Invented by Sonette Ehlers, a blood technician at the South African Institute for Medical Research, RapeX has been in existence since August 2005 and is to be inserted and worn when a woman is "on a train, working late, going out on a date with someone you don't know too well, going to clubs, or in any situation that you might not feel comfortable or even just not sure."

Rape plays a significant role in the high prevalence of HIV among women in South Africa.
