Shaq's Payback Video Disses Kobe For Breaking Up O'Neal Marriage

Is Shaquille O'Neal seriously trashing Kobe Bryant in the now famous rap video, or is it just fun and games?

Everyone talking about it. But the question is: Is this playful Shaq who's making a life commentary like Wil Smith's infamous "Parents Just Don't Understand". Is this a restart of the hate that fueled the East coast/West coast fude and deaths of rappers Tupoc Shakur and Biggie Smalls?

I say it is Shaq finally coming out against Kobe for being a snitch and ruining his marriage to Shaunie. Take a listen and you decide. Sports reporter Steven A Smith is on the phone and softens the video's meaning, but what is very clear is that Shaq finally lays blame for his martial problems on Kobe.

You see, it was Kobe who when arrested in Colorado for molestation, told Colorado Police that "He shouldn't be arrested, because Shaq was always abusing women and then paying them off with cars and expensive gifts." The Colorado investigators promptly got on a plane, flew to Los Angeles, and came to Shaq's home to ask he (and his wife Shaunie) if the sex and shut up gifts were true. Now Shaunie is no fool she knows her man.

But at this point she was made a fool in public. When Shaunie heard of these expensive gifts for bimbos, she started squirrelling her own money away in secret investments and bank accounts. Come on ladies we know she was wrong... but we understand. What's a girl to do? Shaq found out about the Shaunie's secret stashes and the rest is to be divorce court history.

The Great, Incredible Lakers Beat The Undeserving Celtics

Yeah, I Said It!

Kobe Bryant scored 36 points as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Boston Celtics at home 87-81 to pull within 2-1 in the National Basketball Association Finals. That's what we're talking about here at 3BAAS!!!!!

The Lakers outscored the Celtics 27-19 in the fourth quarter to improve to 9-0 at the Staples Center this postseason. The Celtics fell to 2-8 on the road in the playoffs.

Game 4 of the best-of-seven championship series will be played in two days in Los Angeles. The fifth game will also be at the Staples Center. While Bryant scored 10 of his points in the Lakers' fourth quarter surge, the NBA's Most Valuable Player got help off the bench from Sasha Vujacic, who added 20 points while hitting 7-of- 10 shots. The Lakers avoided falling behind 3-0 in the series, a deficit no NBA team has overcome in a playoff series.

"We tried to stay calm,'' Bryant said. "They did a good job defending home court. We knew we had to do the same.''

Ray Allen led the Celtics with 25 points and hit 5 3- pointers. Paul Pierce was held to 6 points on 2-of-14 shooting, while Kevin Garnett finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds while hitting 6-of-21 shots.

"Putting Kobe on Pierce was a difference in tonight's game,'' Lakers coach Phil Jackson said at a news conference. "He had to work to get free."

WOW! LAKERS LEAVE SAN ANTONIO WONDERING, IT'S OVER ALREADY???

Don't hate non-Lakers fans, but it's on to the NBA Finals as our boys defeated the defending champion San Antonio Spurs 100-92 Thursday, advancing forward for the first time in four years.

"The first half was tough for us because they caught us off guard," said Kobe Bryant after wrapping up the best-of-seven series in five. "We just wanted to cut the deficit to a manageable level by half time and we did that and then turned on the gas in the second half."

The Lakers will meet the winner of the other semi-final between the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons. Boston leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 with game six in Detroit on Friday. The Lakers and Celtics have not met in the finals since 1987.

Although Bryant scored 39 points, the Lakers actually trailed by 17 points in the first half. "Never a dull moment with these boys," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson.
Trailing 44-28 with 3:57 remaining in the second, the Lakers finished the half on a 14-4 run en route to a 48-42 deficit entering the third quarter, setting up Bryant's performance in the final two periods.

Los Angeles received the Western Conference championship trophy after the game from Laker legend Jerry West.

"This is dream come true," Bryant said. "It is such a blessing to be able to share this with a group of guys who are like brothers."

This from the guy who had demanded to be traded in the off-season. "It is really a very victorious point in time. For Kobe to come back after a bewildering two weeks in pre-season when things were so tenuous," added Jackson. (AFP)

The NBA All-Star Weekend Has Sonics Baller Daniel Gibson Taking Rookies Out To The Woodshed!

Gibson's Got Something For Ya!

The Sonics' Kevin Durant was the star of the rookie team, but Cleveland Cavalier Guard Daniel Gibson was the star of Friday night's Rookie Challenge.

Gibson made a record 11 three-pointers, many coming right in front of Cleveland teammate LeBron James, and scored 33 points to lead the NBA's sophomore stars to a 136-109 victory over the top rookies.

The 6-foot-2 Houston, Texas native walked away with an MVP award, and had the look of someone who has another trophy coming during All-Star weekend in New Orleans.

The game was the first event in the National Basketball Association’s all-star weekend. Gibson, 21, said afterward that having James seated courtside along with Kevin Garnett, Carmelo Anthony and Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers had spurred him on.

He'll compete in the three-point shootout tonight, and will be hard to beat if he shoots the way he did against the defenseless rookies. He finished three points shy of the game record, set by Amare Stoudemire in 2004.

"My confidence will be high from tonight and hopefully I didn't use them all up," Gibson said.

Portland's Brandon Roy, a former Washington Husky, added 17 points and seven assists for the sophomores.

The rookies led late in the first half before Gibson's surge began. He drilled back-to-back threes to turn a three-point deficit into a three-point lead, then quickly added three more to give the sophomores a 55-44 advantage.

"Once he gets in the zone, once he hits two or three, he gets it going. He hit 11 tonight," said the Sonics rookie Kevin Durant, who like Gibson played at Texas. "I'm very happy for him. He went from a second-round pick to win an MVP in the rookie-sophomore game."

Durant had team highs of 23 points and eight rebounds for the rookies, and Sonics teammate Jeff Green added nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant will start for the Western Conference in the All-Star Game, and Jason Kidd will be in the lineup for the East. Probably.

The Dallas Mavericks and New Jersey Nets had agreed to a deal on Tuesday that would have sent Kidd to Dallas, but Mavericks forward Devean George exercised his right to block the trade, placing both franchises in limbo.

Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki said he didn't expect the failed trade to splinter the Mavericks' locker room. "I think that's where the leaders of this team have to make sure it doesn't happen," Nowitzki said. "If the locker room gets separated, there's no way we're going to achieve our goal. So, you know, deal or no deal, we've got to make sure that the troops are ready to go."

When asked specifically about George, Nowitzki said: "Devean has been a great guy. I guess he's looking out for himself a little bit, but sometimes that's what this league is all about. I feel like we need to get healthy."

Los Angeles Lakers
guard Kobe Bryant lobbied hard to get Kidd last summer. He understands Nowitzki's pain. "I saw him walking around," Bryant said of Nowitzki. "I don't know how he's feeling, but if I was that close to getting Jason Kidd, I'd be a little [upset]."

While Bryant said he'd "rather not play" tonight due to a torn ligament in his right pinky, NBA rules will have him suiting up and dragging his butt our on the court.

In other news:

• Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing and Pat Riley are among the finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Holdovers Chris Mullin, Adrian Dantley, Don Nelson and former Sonic Dennis Johnson are among the 15 candidates. The others: Richie Guerin; Johnny "Red" Kerr; Dick Vitale; Pistons owner Bill Davidson; former women's coach Cathy Rush; former Duke coach Victor Bubas; and Togo Soares and Maciel Ubiratan Pereira of Brazil.

The class of 2008 will be announced April 7.

• Detroit Shock All-Star forward Swin Cash likely will be traded to the Seattle Storm soon as Tuesday, when WNBA free agency opens, the Detroit Free Press reported. [AP] [Washington Post]

As A Die-Hard Lakers Fan, Am I The Only One Getting Sick Of Kobe Bryant?

Lakers Owner Considering Kobe Trade

Big baby Kobe Bryant may get his wish after all. Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss said he would consider trading Bryant, the NBA's scoring leader the past two seasons, under the right circumstances. "At any time, I think you have to do that with anybody. It's just part of the game, to listen to somebody who has a dissatisfied player that you think is going to fit.

Expert: How Isiah can save the Knicks

The Lakers won three championships and reached the NBA finals four times in five years before Shaquille O'Neal was traded to Miami in July 2004. They haven't won a playoff series since O'Neal left. Bryant has four years worth $88.6 million left on the seven-year contract he signed a day after O'Neal was traded, but can terminate the deal in two years. If he did so, he would be leaving $47.8 million on the table.

"I tend not to think in basketball terms that many years down the road because things change so dramatically, but he could test the waters at that point," Buss said. "If he still is in that frame of mind, then hopefully we can do a sign-and-trade and get some comparable talent. I would like to think that we win between now and then so it doesn't come up." Buss went on to say, "I told him when I walked in that I was going to try to talk him out of it. And he said, `I'll listen carefully.' And he did. "He listened very carefully for 30, 45 minutes. I tried to explain to him how much the city of Los Angeles loved him, and that to leave 10 million sweethearts for unknown territory might not be the right thing to do. But when I was finished, he said he basically felt the same way. And I said, `OK. With that, I will proceed to see what's available.'" Buss didn't elaborate other than to say he might have made a move on a trade offer that was "within reason."

The 29-year-old Bryant is about to begin his 12th NBA season, all with the Lakers.

KOBE (I'M STILL A LAKER) BRYANT SAYS MARRIAGE NOT ON THE ROCKS

Rumors have surfaced that basketball star Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa's six-year marriage is on the rocks.

But the Lakers guard says that the reports are 100 percent false.

The NBA player has been traveling in Europe with his family, which includes two young daughters, and has been working out with Team U.S.A.

The brother says he has no idea how the rumors got started because he and his Latina wife Vanessa are happily married. Bryant goes on to say that he initially wasn't going to respond to the reports but then felt compelled to set the record straight.

Ok, we'll give Kobe a pass... for now. But let's keep it real, it ain't like this marriage has had a great track record.

Updates to follow...

ARE BREAK-UP RUMORS ABOUT BLACK NBA SUPERSTAR KOBE BRYANT AND HIS GORGEOUS LATINA WIFE VANESSA TRUE?

Is This The Real Reason Why Kobe's Been Whining So Much Lately?

Looks like the Bryants may be calling it quits on future family trips to Disneyland.

Even Viacom-owned CBS News affiliate in Los Angeles is reporting that the couple are on the rocks. These whispers may be valid, as an alleged contact close to Kobe, 28, has stated that the Lakers basketball star is prepared to get a divorce.

Bryant was 22 years old when he dribbled off the court and into a wedding chapel with then 19-year-old Vanessa, who was still in high school when they started dating.

Marrying in 2001 against his family wishes allegedly because she was a Latina, the interracial pair have been married for 6 years now and have withstood their share of controversy.

An insider is now reporting that things may be beyond repair, "They've been trying [to make things better] now for more than a year, but it's just not working out ... Kobe's in the process of moving out [of their home] and both are ready to officially end things (MediaTakeOut.com)."

This break up will not likely be the filled with drama. Rather than make a drawn out public spectacle of their split, Kobe and Vanessa will likely come to a quiet settlement, ala Babyface and Tracey Edmonds. Like the Edmonds, Kobe and Vanessa have two children, both girls.

The source close to the couple has stated, "There's very little for [Kobe and Vanessa] to fight over. Since there was no pre-nuptial agreement [and California is a community property state], Vanessa's entitled to half the marital assets... Besides, Kobe stands to make a lot more money in the years to come - and that will be all his (MediaTakeOut.com)."

Kobe Bryant has had a very lucrative basketball career, to say the least, and is estimated to have earned nearly $200 million.

Over the next four seasons, the Lakers will be are committed to Kobe to the tune of $88.6 million. In addition to his lucrative salary, Kobe’s endorsement deals will continue to pay him nicely, like his $18 million still left with Nike.

As a rabid fan of the LA team as well as a husband and father, this is some sad crap to be blogging about. If this ish is true Kobe, brother man-up and work it out.

Everything is not about you. "I ain't happy with the Lakers," "I ain't sastified with my woman," I, I, I!

Your girl stood by you after humilating her with the whole "it was consensual sex" drama a few years back and you can't do whatever is in your power to keep your family together?

C'mon KB, you don't have to roll like that. Don't break up your family man. DON'T DO IT!!!

KOBE BRYANT GOES SOPRANO, PUTS HIT OUT ON WITNESS!

We've heard of Kobe the 3 NBA Titles superstar
We now even know Kobe as the whiner ...
But KOBE THE KILLER?
??
Kobe giving the OK to take somebody out??

Well that's what former bodyguard Patrick Graber says. He is releasing a book called Dead Women Tell No Tales: the truth about the Kobe Bryant Rape Case.

Graber says Bryant had wanted to put the "hit" on a witness in his Colorado rape case.

Graber and Bryant met in July 2003 in Kobe’s luxury Westwood apartment where the player was 'entertaining' his two mistresses.

Bryant proposes to his bodyguard to eliminate the witness in the Colorado rape case. Now those of you who only faintly remember what happen, here's a refresher:

Graber was arrested in suburban El Segundo by undercover sheriff's investigators who had met with him previously and set up a sting in a supermarket parking lot. Detectives said Graber wanted $3 million to carry out the "Hit" plan and had arranged to pick up a $1 million payment.

The investigation began when Bryant's security staff reported receiving a letter offering to solve the basketball player's problem. The letter was signed "Yuri." Investigators said Graber claimed to have ties to Russian organized crime.

The defense attorney said it would be hard for prosecutors to prove that Graber had the intent and means to carry out a crime. He noted that Graber has one prior conviction, for fraud, in Switzerland.

But what about Kobe??

Catch the whole story on the website for Graber's book.

THIS L.A. FAN WANTS A DIVORCE AS KOBE HINTS OF TRADE ON HIS WEBSITE

The Big Baby Wants Trade From Lakers

(AP)LOS ANGELES—Kobe Bryant sniffled again that he wants to be traded, writing on his Web site that "the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future."

"When you love something as much as I love the Lakers its hard to even imagine thinking about being elsewhere."

The statement posted Sunday on kb24.com was the latest in a recent series of childlike comments from Bryant about whether he wants to remain in Los Angeles.

"But, the ONE THING I will never sacrifice when it comes to basketball is WINNING," the two-time scoring champion wrote.

"The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future." Oh, cry me river!

The 28-year-old Bryant, a nine-time All Star, has four years left on his 136 million dollar contract—but he can terminate it following the 2008-09 season. Or as soon as he finishes feeding off Dr. Jerry Buss' lactating teat!

The blog statement is consistent with reports this week that Bryant met with the team owner in Spain and reiterated his demand to leave the Lakers this summer.

The problem is, Bryant's statement was initially posted May30.

Bryant posted his blog that evening, after his whirlwind sports-talk radio tour in which he first demanded to be traded, then seemingly rescinded his demand.

The statement has remained near the top of Bryant's Web site for almost three weeks, the date of its posting changed periodically for no apparent reason.

If I want this kind of whining and complaining, I'll become a Heat's fan and let Shaq rant on.

Kobe, please, MAN-UP AND PLAY THE GAME!

NBA DRAMA: IF KOBE DOESN'T WANT TO BE HERE, THERE'S THE DOOR

First Kobe Says He Wants Lakers To Trade Him, Now He Doesn't - What's Up Black Man?

NBA baller Kobe Bryant asked to be traded today after calling the team’s front office “a mess.”

“I would like to be traded, yeah,” Bryant told ESPN radio. “Tough as it is to come to that conclusion, there’s no other alternative..."

Hours later after talking to Laker coach Phil Jackson, Bryant backed off. "I always dreamed about retiring as a Laker... When Phil and I spoke, he was optimistic and determined that we'll both be back," Bryant told ESPN.

Bryant, who helped the Lakers win three consecutive NBA championships, has four years left on the seven-year, $136.4 million contract he signed July 15, 2004. That was a day after Shaquille O’Neal was traded to the Miami Heat.

Bryant became infuriated when a Los Angeles Times columnist quoted a Lakers “insider” as saying it was Bryant’s insistence on getting away from O’Neal. Bryant also said he feels owner Jerry Buss misled him three years ago by telling him one thing and coach Phil Jackson something else about the team’s goals.

LAKER OWNER JERRY BUSS CHARGED WITH DUI

Buss issued a statement saying:

“We are aware of the media reports. However, Kobe has not told us directly that he wants to be traded. We have made it very clear that we are building our team around Kobe and that we intend for him to be a Laker his entire career. We will speak directly to Kobe and until we do that, we will not comment publicly about this.”

This is getting old family. As die-hard Laker fans, we would much rather focus on building a new team and winning next year. Kobe is incredible - no doubt. It's time, however, that he steps up and becomes a true leader, not some whiny, self-centered prima donna.

KOBE: THE PRIMA DONNA IS WHINING, BUT DO LAKER FANS STILL CARE?

Here's A Bottle For The Little Baby

Kobe Bryant's wailing over the Los Angeles' Lakers season and first-round exit from the NBA playoffs apparently hasn't subsided.

After unlatching from a lactating teat, Bryant indicated that the Lakers need to make changes in the offseason, and he reiterated his complaints from the season's end that he doesn't have too many years to wait.

"I want to see us get to a contending level," he said, throwing his rattle while looking for his Tickle-Me Elmo. "I want to see us become a championship contender. It's been a frustrating process for me and I'm sure it's been a frustrating process for all Laker fans. I'm just hoping we can get to that level. I'm still frustrated. I'm waiting for them to make some changes."

Stop Kobe. JUST STOP!!!

You're the reason Shaq and everyone was sent packin', you're the one insisting that things go your way or your way, and you're the one that is apparently incapable of inspiring your fellow teammates.

Man-up brotha and handle your business. For this Laker fan, all your complaining is just making me want to give you a time-out.
