Every Man and Every Clinton Needs a Good Woman

In her victory speech last week in Ohio, Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke directly to one group of voters that has enabled her unlikely comeback and could decide whether her presidential quest still has hope — women.

"Together, we're going to make history. To those little girls, I say this is America, and we do believe you can be anything you want to be," she said.

In Ohio, 59 percent of the Democratic electorate were women, according to exit polls that showed Clinton thrashing Obama among women 57-41 percent, and capturing 67 percent of white women. The outpouring of female support reversed a trend that had almost doomed Clinton's aspirations.
