WHILE BLACK FOLKS BOYCOTT BET'S "HOT GHETTO MESS", WE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF "HELL DATE"

Reginald Hudlin & Crew Get "Hell" Right!

This show is the funniest of the new offers for this month from BET. The acting and comedy is crazy and fun. We've all had bad dates before, but never this outrageous! Lots of laughs.

We highly recommend it!

Meanwhile, "Hot Ghetto Mess" is still a hot-button issue, with some (including a few of us) arguing that the program is demeaning.

As we've been covering on this blog, an Austin woman, fed up with negative media images of African-Americans and women has launched a campaign against an upcoming show on Black Entertainment Television that she feels doesn't deserve to be on.

Gina McCauley's had some success: Earlier this week, State Farm Insurance pulled its sponsorship from Hot Ghetto Mess, pleasing McCauley, a 31-year-old African-American. And Home Depot, saying it had never agreed to sponsor the show, asked for its ad to be removed from BET's Web page promoting the series.
