DR. KING FU

'Made in China' Statue To Stand Tall In DC

China Overtakes US In Exports [MSNBC]

Forty-five years after his "I have a dream" speech, Martin Luther King Jr will return to the scene as a three-story statue made by Lei Yixin, a man known for his sculptures of Mao Zedong.

King will be featured emerging from a 30-foot block of granite, weighing a combined 1,000 tons. The statue will then be transported by barge.

When Lei recently came across an article suggesting that the honor should have been awarded to an African-American, his pride burst through.

"Look at that one, it's no good," Lei said, pointing to a picture of another King statue done by a Black artist. "There may be a lot of sculptors in America who wanted this project and hope that I give up, I don't know. But I will do better than the other King sculptures." Lei adds, ""Martin Luther King belonged to the whole world,"

And we ain't mad at you Lei. We want the best person to hook-up the doc. If the family has a problem with it - just send them our way. 3 Brothers & A Sister have your back!
