


IMUS, WIFE EXIT 2 1/2 HOUR MEETING WITH RUTGERS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM
WIFE SAID TO HAVE HUGGED EACH PLAYER INDIVIDUALLY
The Rutgers University women's basketball team ended their meeting with embattled former radio host Don Imus at about 10:30 p.m. EST. The meeting was reported to have ended on a "good" note. Imus's wife Deidre, who accompanied him, was reported to have hugged each player individually.
Although, the Imuses left about ten minutes afterwards, the Rutgers team stayed behind at the New Jersey Governor's mansion for about an hour. After finally emerging, the women's team was reported to look worn and tired. Coach C. Vivian Stringer shared that the team handled themselves beautifully in communicating with Mr. Imus.
When a reporter shouted to the team in asking whether or not they accepted Mr. Imus' apology, they indicated that they would share their thoughts tomorrow. However, it was clear they were not prepared to indicate the answer to that question tonight.
Reports went forward that the meeting was highly emotional and there were tears and lots of questions of Mr. Imus of why them.
