Rev. Wright Holding On, Son David Wright Suffers "Mild" Heart Attack Over Mom's Death And Dad's Condition

(Rev. Timothy Wright and wife Betty being honored)

Rev. Timothy Wright remains hospitalized and alert after the horrific accident in route from a Detroit church conference. He was informed about the death of his grandson, D.J. Wright in the accident. However, the family is holding off telling the gospel artist and pastor about his beloved wife, Betty Wright, who also died in the weekend accident.

Betty Wright, was co-pastor with Rev. Wright, of Grace Tabernacle Church of God In Christ in Brooklyn, N.Y. She wrote the couple's latest gospel hit inspired by Hurricane Katrina victims, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.''

According to blackvoices.com, 29-year-old David Wright, one of the couple's five sons, suffered an apparent mild heart attack after learning the news. Source

Who Is Rev. Timothy Wright? "You Must Come In At The Door"

This is just a sampling of Rev. Wright and how he has touched our lives.

Rev. Timothy Wright Update: Remains In Critial Conditon, Not Told Of Wife's Death Yet

We continue to pray for Pastor and gospel singer Timothy Wright. While the Rev. Wright, pastor of Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn, knows his grandson has died, he has not yet been told the fate of his wife and co-pastor, Betty Wright.

"He's holding on," said his son David Wright. The pastor suffered extensive injuries, including a broken jaw. "He's conscious. He can't talk, but he can nod his head."

Wright remained in critical condition yesterday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

Another of the pastor's five sons Danny Wright -- whose own 14-year-old son D.J. died in the crash -- said his father has been asking for his wife. The family has pledged to wait to break the news until Wright is physically stronger.

The Wrights were returning from a religious convention in Detroit late on July 4 when their car was struck head-on by another car driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania.
