Today Morgan Freeman's lawyer announced the actor and his wife of 24 years are getting a divorce. Talk about having a baaaad week. This news comes as Morgan remains hospitalized from a Sunday car accident in which his car flipped several times leaving him with a broken arm, a broken elbow and severe shoulder damage.
Freeman's lawyer, Bill Luckett, told the Memphis Commercial-Appeal newspaper that the divorce action is impending. Freeman's wife is Myrna Colley-Lee. The lawyer declined to provide details other than confirming that the pair have been separated 'for legal and practical purposes' since December 2007.
Rumors fly that the 71 year old Freeman has another woman in his life. Perhaps it is the younger 48-year-old woman named Demaris Meyer, who was described as the veteran actor's "friend". 
Demaris owned the car that Morgan was driving on Sunday and was with him in the crash when hydraulic equipment had to be used to cut them out the wreck. She was later released from the hospital without serious injury. Demaris is reportedly a "friend" of Freeman's wife. It's unclear why the two were together on Monday...
Just think it was only a week ago when Morgan was ridding high with the mega Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT, which is now approaching 400 million in sales. The actor rose to fame with supporting roles in "Driving Miss Daisy" and "Glory," and later won an Oscar in 2005 for "Million Dollar Baby."
