MCCAIN WINS DELEGATE COUNT, GETS PRESIDENT'S ENDORSEMENT, AND LEAVES HUCKABEE LOST AND TURNED OUT

Vermont, Ohio, Rhode Island and Texas. It's a clean sweep for Arizona Senator John Mccain. Huckaberry Hound put up a good fight, but the governor from Hope, Arkansas should have known that Bill Clinton was going to be the first and last president from that neck of the woods.

1195 delegates makes McCain the presumptive Republican nominee. Broke and in desperate need of some Red Bull after that non Obamaesque acceptance speech, he heads into the November general election with many in the GOP with their lip poked out. Big time!

MIKE HUCKEBEE CONCEDES IT'S TIME TO GO

Huckabee, who won the GOP's first contest in Iowa, had continued to campaign despite McCain emerging as the clear frontrunner. Having come under increasing pressure from Republican leaders to drop out of the race so that McCain could shift his focus to the general election, tonight he finally saw the writing on the wall.

Go Johnny Go? Ahhh... NO! And didn't the crowd chanting "JOHN-MCCAIN-JOHN- MCCAIN" feel forced, uninspired and insincere. Where are the Democains (Dems down with McCain) clamoring to change party affiliations and jump unboard the "Straight Talk Express?"

On Wednesday, President George Bush will let McCain kiss the ring before officially annointing the maverick war veteran the next successor.

Obama Sweeps Virginia, DC, And Maryland!

While the Virginia GOP race is still close, CNN is projecting Arizona Senator John McCain will capture the southern state, with Obama snatching up Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. Another great day for this audacious Black man trying to change the world.

Voters today participated in the so-called "Potomac primaries" -- named for the river that separates Virginia and Maryland and flows past the nation's capital. High turnout reported in these large swaths of African Americans could not be denied by Camp Billary, as the once presumptive Democratic nominee from New York downplays Obama's string of victories over the last few days.

Right now, Obama has bested Hillary Clinton in all five of the Democratic contests of late. Apparently this is causing many a superdelegate to lean his way, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. And who could blame her. If Barack wins, Pelosi solidifies her position as being the most powerful woman in the world who doesn't have to share that tiara with Queen Hillary. It may sound petty, but don't think for one minute that these politicos don't roll like that.

And what about White men? According to ABC News, they too have a serious crush on Obama.

Virginia election officials saw 30 to 40 percent higher turnout for the state's primaries. High turnout was also reported in the northern part of the state and in Richmond and Charlottesville, according to Virginia Board of Elections spokeswoman Susan Pollard. Mark Coakley, the general register for Henrico County said the turnout in his Richmond-area county was record breaking. "It's our first ever-dual primary so regardless it would be record breaking," he said.

At an Alexandria, Virginia, polling station, election officials said they also saw a steady turnout. "We're getting good, consistent turnout. We started out with over 20 people at the gate when we opened up the doors at 6 a.m.," election official Chris Tatem said. "We're averaging maybe a hundred an hour of people that push through here, which is good."

High winds swept through the state on Sunday and Monday knocking out power in some areas and forcing some polling stations to relocate. The storms knocked out power to 50 stations, election officials said, but power had been restored to all but eight of them. Generators were used to restore power at some locations. As a result, Maryland kept there polls open for additional ninety minutes.

District election officials did not give an estimate of overall turnout, but two precincts in Washington ran out of ballots, according to Bill O'Field, a spokesman for the District Board of Elections.

Several other precincts had to have more ballots delivered due to higher-than-expected turnout. The demographics in Tuesday's primaries suggest Obama could pull off a political hat trick over Clinton. However, the senator from New York said Obama's recent success doesn't faze her because future primaries will swing her way.

Right now we're looking at 238 Democratic delegates and 119 total GOP delegates at stake tongiht. In total delegates, Clinton tops Obama 1,157 to 1,145, according to CNN estimates. The breakdown paints a slightly different picture, as Obama leads 989 to 923 in pledged delegates, and Clinton is winning among superdelegates 234 to 156.

Superdelegates, a group of almost 800 Democratic Party officials and leaders, are not required to make their votes public and are free to change their minds.

In the Republican race, the question is whether McCain can start to unify the Republican party behind his all-but-certain nomination.

McCain is leading the only other Republican candidate in the race, Huckabee, 723 to 217 in total delegates, according to CNN estimates. A GOP candidate needs 1,191 delegates to secure the nomination. But Huckabee is coming off a big win Saturday in Kansas, where he won by double digits, and another narrower win in Louisiana.

McCain edged out the former Arkansas governor in the Washington caucuses, but Huckabee is questioning the result. Huckabee has done well with Christian conservatives and rural voters, and McCain's performance last weekend suggests the GOP, particularly conservative voters, are not quite ready to unite behind him.

McCain, however, scoffed at the notion that the former Arkansas governor could close the over 500-delegate gap that separates the two GOP contenders. "We are doing fine. We have 700 and some -- close to 800 delegates, and the last time I checked Gov. Huckabee has very few," McCain said.

"So I think I am pretty happy with the situation that we are in." He said Tuesday he was "guardedly optimistic" about the Potomac primaries. [CNN]

Mike Huckabee is from the south, plays a funky bass guitar loves Jesus, sounds like a Black man, and sounds like a winner. Does this all sound familiar? Barack Obama you better watch your back. That rumbling sound you hear is another smooth talking Arkansas Governor with a head of steam.

Todays head lines read as follows: "Mike Huckabee Wins In Iowa, The Dow is down; The dollar is down; Oil hits $100 a barrel; unemployment hits 5%; and Mike Huckabee is right, America needs Help, America Needs Jesus. "

Mike Hukabee is the alternative that could beat a Democrat, even in these hard times. Even when Republicans themselves want Republicans out of office. He is coming at America as a man who wants "change", just like the Democrats and also like the Democrats he is coming at America as an "outsider". As the days move on watch as his views and opinions move closer to the center. I already claimed his victory, when he won my own straw pole of: "Candidate you'd most likely take hunting or drink a beer with."

Don't let Mike's running mate, Jesus, turn you off. Because it hasn't turned the rest of America off. Jesus will more than pull his weight, as a powerful vote getter with the Religious Right, Faith Centered Blacks and Latinos. Latinos as you better remember are mostly Catholic. In fact, considering the current condition of the US economy, a "miracle workers" is the first cabinet position any new president will need to fill.

You "fair weathered Republicans" and especially you Black Republicans better get on board this "Huckabee Train." Didn't you see Huckabee on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno? Ask Arnold Schwarzenegger what the "Leno Touch" did for his gubernatorial win.

Mike is for real and when you see a player running and breaking away for the "end zone" like Huckabee is, then I can only quote my brother over at ESPN and say, "He-May-Go-All-The-Way!"

MIKE HUCKABEE GETS INTERESTING, AS JAMIE LYNN SPEARS AND CONDOLEEZA RICE FIGHT FOR HIS ATTENTION

You may not vote for him but Republican Presidential Candidate, Mike Huckabee is making politics interesting once again. Yesterday he commented " ... how happy he was that Britney Spears, pregnant 16 year old sister, Jamie Lynn, was keeping her baby" Now, no one really asked for Mike's opinion and I really don't think the expecting couple have Mike on "speed dial." But with this comment, Huckabee successfully got a piece of the news headlines and the "Conservative right" and "Bible thumper'" base of the Republican party got his subtle message.

Now he has Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice making him note worthy as she finally felt compelled to say something about Huckabee's take on what has been a poor foreign policy for the last seven years.

Huckabee feels the Bush administrations foreign policy is "arrogant and unilateral" and characterized by a "bunker mentality." Duh? No earth shattering news there. But Huckabee proved himself news worthy again as Condolezza felt completed to responded to these comments, saying, "The idea that somehow this is a go-it-alone policy is just simply ludicrous," she said at a State Department news conference. "One would only have to be not observing the facts, let me say that, to say that this is now a go-it-alone foreign policy."

She then protested she didn't want to dignify these comments with any remarks saying, "Look, I don't comment on other people's comments. I don't have time, all right. I really don't have time to worry about this."

But she wouldn't let it go because she then launched into a vigorous defense of the administration's multilateral diplomatic efforts on Afghanistan, North Korea and Iran, and pointed to improving ties with traditional allies in Europe, some of which were strained by the Iraq war.


"We have right now probably the strongest trans-Atlantic relations ... I would say in a very long time," Rice said, noting in particular Britain, France and Germany.

"We're working with allies in Europe, Russia and China on Iran. The (NATO) alliance is mobilized together in Afghanistan," she said. "We had 50-plus countries at Annapolis to launch the peace process between Israelis and Palestinians. We're working together with allies in Lebanon.

"I can go on and on and on and on," Rice concluded. "And so, I would just say to people, look at the facts.

The former Arkansas governor has surged in the polls to become a front-runner in the upcoming Iowa caucuses for the GOP presidential nomination. The reason why? Because unlike the other GOP candidates, love him or hate him, Mike Huckabee has something interesting to say.
