Iron Man 2 Nix's Terrence Howard For Don Cheadle

Is it Black On Black Crime when one brother loses a job and another brother gets that job?

Marvel Comics and Stan Lee blew us out the water this summer with the hit feature film "Iron Man". This hit featured Robert Downey Jr. as scientist Tony Stark and his side kick Jim Rhodes, was played by Terrence Howard.

But we hear now, for the sequel, Terrence is out and Don Cheadle is in. The new movie is suppose to have an even bigger role for the Jim Rhodes character. Was it money, was it something else that caused this move? We'll keep you updated and hope there was no "stealing" of acting roles going on.

I May Be Late, But Don Cheadle's 'Talk To Me' Is Hands Down The Best Movie This Year!

When it comes to the movie Talk to Me, as far as movie reviews go, there are those who would say that I am a day late and a dollar short. Well, while this blog is not specifically about movie reviews and while this is only my second one (my first one was on The Simpsons Movie), that should be enough to give me a pardon.

Talk to Me is the best movie that has been out this year. What makes me say this? Well, I've already seen it twice and I'm about to go see it a third time.Starring some of my favorite actors like Don Cheadle, Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Sheen, Taraji P. Henson and my new love fantasy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Talk to Me is one of the best told stories in the movies I've seen in quite a while.

It's the story of the evolving relationship between an ambitious, fast-rising radio executive, Dewey Hughes (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and a talented fast-talking miscreant (i.e., ex-con) turned radio personality and comedian, Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene (Don Cheadle). Luck emerges when opportunity meets the needs of both Hughes and Greene as Hughes has a chance to turn around a struggling Washington D.C. R&B radio station and Greene exercises his dogged determination to live out his dream as a disc jockey.

The result is a partnership turned friendship that takes them both to career heights to the likes neither have ever seen.The movie is hilarious up until the point when...

Walgreen Doesn't Care About Black People

Walgreen Co. will pay $20 million to settle a federal lawsuit alleging widespread racial bias at America's largest drugstore chain under the terms of a proposed deal announced Thursday. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the class-action lawsuit in March, alleging that Walgreen, based in Deerfield, Illinois, discriminated against thousands of black workers in hiring and assignment decisions.

Tribute to Barry White

A portrait of the late R&B singer, Barry White was unveiled Saturday morning at South Park Recreation Center in South Los Angeles. A celebration of his life and music was held in the gymnasium which bears his name. White passed away in 2003.

New Film Restores Hope For Black Cinema

Kasi Lemmons’s new film Talk to Me, which hits theaters today, July 13th, is brilliant!

It’s an amazing piece about Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene, an ex-con played by Don Cheadle, who became a popular yet controversial deejay at WOL-AM in Washington D.C. during the 60’s and 70’s. The station would go on to become the first station in the Radio One empire.

Cheadle is beyond incredible as Greene. He inhales the life of this fiery, street tough man who became a voice and hero for the people in one of the most turbulent periods in American history. I am betting he gets an Oscar nomination for best actor.

British-born actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for his roles in such films as Kinky Boots, Inside Man, and Dirty Pretty Things, is fantastic as Dewey Hughes. Also bringing superb performances to the piece are Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji Henson and Martin Sheen.

Talk to Me has restored my faith in black movies (that is films by black
writers/directors/producers). Not that I had lost total faith with us. But...
